What is the contract situation with Allen? I see the Griz are 14.8 million dollars over the cap so what could they offer him to stay? MLE?

We have his bird rights so we can pretty much go right to the tax line if we wanted.

We can also offer an extra year over any other team if he gets a outrageous offer.

If he gets a 4 year 6 m deal or something crazy we can offer a 5 year deal.

We can also offer the highest annual increase ( I think)

7% vs 3% its small but every bit can help.

No need to use our mle we can use our cap space and keep him.

Please correct me if I'm wrong about this stuff.

IMO I don't see the Grizz offering more than a three year deal with possibly the third year being a team option and unless there is competition from a team willing to guarantee the third year would they meet that obligation.

If there is a team that wants to offer four guaranteed years at 6 million per or higher than I think they let him walk.

One more thing, TIME is a huge factor as Tony is getting married within the next week or so, he will want it wrapped up sooner rather than later and I am certain the Grizz want it wrapped up quickly so they don't lose out totally if they have to move in another direction. Therefore we should know something by Friday whether he is staying or going.

Listening to Vernon today at lunch and he said that unless a total shocker ($7 or $8 Million per year) offer from someone rolls in, he fully expects TA to be back next season. Not to say that Verno knows all, but he's pretty well connected with the FO and he's pretty tight with TA.
