Doesn't mean he can't be brought back. I don't think he'll command a big contract from another team...

Exactly, he will even make our summer squad, he will have to earn his spot again and that's it.

Romero Osby and Dequan Jones to compete for a roster spot at SF. Got a feeling Osby will win, but DQJ will find a roster somewhere.

Nicholson will compete with the UCF guy for PF spot.

Before the draft I was all for Bledsoe but now that I think about it I would rather draft Marcus Smart next year. I think we will draft somewhere between 3 and 5 and unless there is a really point guard needy team he will be there. I just don't want to start blowing $$ on a pg with question marks and I feel Bledsoe is going to want a nice sized contract.

I like us building through the draft BC it seems Henny and his team can scout talent.

Uhhh.....Not sure you're serious but Nicholson doesn't have to compete with anyone for a spot he's pretty much guaranteed one as far as im concerned

Orlando won't have to pay him when his contract expires.. If he pans out as our pg of the future great. If not then we've gotten ourselves out of afflalo's contract.

The most recent report is Bledsoe wants to be extended if he is traded by October. Not saying we have to do it but if that's the plan I would rather wait on the draft and tank with Jameer

We would tank harder by getting Bledsoe though. Losing Afflalo makes us worse.

UCF grad and huge fan of Clanton, but let's be honest he'll have a tough time making the roster for us given our glut of players that can play PF. Hoping he plays well in summer league and gets an offer by another team (though I would love to see Orlando give him a contract anyway if there's a spot open). Maybe if we deal Davis or Nicholson (rumored in the Bledsoe deal).

If that piece of info is true, then i can see why ORL may have cooled on a deal for EB. Who is he to have some contract demand? That kind of attitude can't be what Henny and the gang is cool with, and it's not the kind of atmosphere you want to create to bring a guy in here with contract demands before he even gets here imo. Just displays a attitude i don't see us wanting to deal with, but Stein could be making it more than it is. Like, what will he do if he doesn't get that extention before Halloween? He can't do anything but pout.

Bledsoe is a no risk gamble. If we deal AA for him and Butler, we get out of AA's deal and get a season to look at Bledsoe before he becomes our RFA. By that point, we'd know where we stood with the draft (whether we draft another PG or not), and we can make an offer on him from there.

Or, I'd also happily consider being a middle man in a 4-way deal for Bledsoe.

LAC: Afflalo
DET: Bledsoe + Butler
POR: KCP + Stuckey
ORL: McCollum

lol... Bit of a recurring theme going on here with me.

his agent is just trying to get him locked in. He moves to another team playing fulltime PG, his less than stellar PG skills could be exposed. Now with more PT, he may become a better passer and eventually a better shooter, but he isnt great at either right now.

Just his agent and him trying to do their job. No one is going to re-up him to a long contract without seeing him play this year.

I don't think that just because Bledsoe has expressed that he wants an extension that it means he has an attitude. There's a difference between wanting and demanding.

I'd have thought Bledsoe would want a solid year of performance under his belt to get the best offer possible. Unless his agent is trying to cash in on the hype and "potential" element of it all right now. Which suggests that his camp isn't confident he's going to have a breakout year and land himself a max contract, IMO.

Okay, i guess that is fair not to jump the gun on saying that. I just don't want an attitude created if he doesn't get the extension he wants. I get that his agent may want to cash in now, but i should hope a team would not fall for that.

Look man to me you have to earn that extension like what has bledsoe done to earn an extension at this point? especially to a team that might want him to be a long term starter? This has got to be a ploy because i don't think Hennigan would respond to someone demanding or suggesting an extension before we even get to see if he even works on this team. Can he run a team? Can he play as well as he played in LA with much less talent? Can he make anyone better? those are the questions we might have to pay in advance to see an answer to. FOH i'd rather just wait a year and see what PGs are in the draft that could be had i mean i'd love Wiggins but i highly doubt we get a Number 1 selection next season. Marcus Smart is still on my radar he would be younger and cheaper than Bledsoe, bigger and possibly stronger and actually has PG instincts
