Free Agency: Chicago Bulls about to possibly offer Nate Robinson the MMLE and Marco Belinelli a 20% Raise or the MMLE? (Read More)

Via Sam Smith
Chicago Bulls willing to pay more luxury tax to re-sign Marco Belinelli. Problem is they'll only offer a 1 year deal. Chicago Bulls could offer Marco Belinelli a 1 year, $2.35m (Raise) or $3.18m (MMLE) in free agency assuming Sam Smith comments are valid.

Via Mike McGraw
He believes they could re-sign Nate Robinson but no room will be available for Belinelli who'll be let go. Believes they'll play a bench backcourt of Robinson, Hinrich, and a Shooter.

Via K.C. Johnson
Now believes the Bulls could use "some" of the MMLE.

Our predictions are this. We think the Bulls offer Nate Robinson a 1 year/$3.18m deal and Marco Belinelli a 20% raise so he'd earn 1yr/$2.35m. If Nate Robinson doesn't accept the deal, they could bump up the price and offer Belinelli a 1 year/$3.18m. One of them is likely to take the better deal possibly both. This is what we expect to happen.

Now the understanding here is Bulls Beatwriters believe a team will offer them a 3 or 4 year deal and they'll take the long term guarantee rather than a short term deal by the Bulls.

I bet Nate comes back but we lose Pasta.

oh i like these rumors. definitely hope Nate comes back. would prefer it was two years but we all know they want that 2014 cap room.

BRING NATE ROB BACK PLEASE!!!! he could stay on this team for the next 3-4 years...I think Hinrich is a goner after next year. With Nate...I think we have a shot!!!

Yeah, bring Nate back..fill the rest of the roster with vet min guys, I don't care. Nate just gives u instant offense. I liked what Marco brought but he was inconsistent..plus, we have Snell..he can take his spot.

I liked the Nate signing last season, and in theory would love him back, but where and when would he play this season?

He could play the 1 & 2. Him and Kirk for while Rose a Jimmy needs rest, play with Rose some, we could play Lu at the 4 more and not go with a traditional C behind Noah.

If we signed Nate it would look like this

Starters:
Rose
Butler
Deng
Boozer
Noah

Bench:
Robinson
Kirk
Gibson

Snell
Teague
Nazr
Murphy

Rose-32 / Kirk-8 / Nate-8
Butler-24 / Nate-12 / Kirk-12
Deng-32 / Butler-8 / Snell-8

I think it would be very feasible for Kirk and Nate to each average 20mpg (especially when focusing on preventing Rose and Deng from overwhelming minutes).

Moreover, who here honestly believes Kirk is going to be healthy for 60 or more games? So Nate's mpg throughout the season will be more than the ideal breakdown with everyone healthy.

Something odd is going on with Nate. He is campaigning hard.

There was a story that his agent let the Bulls know he was moving on. But then this all doesn't fit.

I was told yesterday that the Bulls hope to keep him, so we'll see if that is true or not. With his tweets, it sure does seem like if we come in and offer him the MMLE that he would sign, even if someone offered him the MLE.

Another thing, I wonder if Rose is pushing for Nate to come back and if that would make the Bulls do it. Reggie's main concern is having someone who can let Rose play off ball some, taking pressure off of him.

It'll probably result in him in a different uniform.

Cold Water's been pretty straight forward with this minimun contract thing. From his "John Lucas is intriguing" tweet to the article he posted earlier today.

I wish we had a clear understanding on the exact issue right now...

I honestly want to know if the Bulls are deciding to offering him a contract at all, or if prices and salary raises are whats stalling the train.

It's a good question. I think they didn't plan on it, but seeing him in the postseason and the price tag of the MMLE, has changed their minds and they will go for him. At least that is my hope and praying for.

Rose, Butler, Deng, Boozer, Noah, Nate, Kirk, Snell, Gibson is a strong 9.
