GGG was basically busting his ass trying to make a name for himself in Germany before he finally got his first fight on HBO last year. He was practically unknown to the boxing public before then. The fight against Proksa put him on the map and finally gave him some much needed exposure. Now he's finally getting the chance to face a top 10 middle weight. Oh and until Macklin agreed to fight him, most of the top 10 ranked middle weights have been avoiding him like the plague, and it's pretty obvious why.
If he wins tonight like most expect him to, it only opens up more opportunities for him. HBO is pushing him really hard right now. It's pretty obvious that they want him to be the next big thing.
Pretty much.. when you have scary power no one wants to fight you. Sturm and all the other german middleweights wanted no part of him. He has said he will face anyone at 154 to 168. Ward isn't exactly lining up to fight him neither is Froch,Kessler and etc.
