Hey peeps,

I was just talking to Cedric in the Nicholson thread, do you guys see Oladipo as our 6th man in 2014? Hoping all our players progress and we get a top 5 pick and we don't take a point guard how do we balance these guys out

Oladipo
Harkless
Harris
Nicholson
Parker/Wiggins/Randle/other pick?

5 guys for 3 position (point locked to Nelson or trade/FA and Centre locked to Vucevic)

I think if we draft a forward/Randle then Oladipo can be our spark off the bench, it's a toss up between Victor and Harkless, Harkless's length gets him the slight edge to me

If its a wing Wiggins/Parker then Harris coming in for 30 minutes over the 3 and 4 would be great

What do you guys think of this (ideal) problem

If u look at the projected bottom 6 teams next year, not many are after a pg, so even if we draft #6 we could bag a very nice pg

Dipo is going to be a lot better than a lot of you all are expecting and sooner than expected. This guy is going to be a star.

I have to admit I was a big supporter, thought he was a genuinely good guy for years. Turns out he's just a punk.

Durant, Aldridge and Chandler are the only real franchise impacting players in that group. well, positive impact, that is.

i really think that Bennet, Zeller, McCollum, Burke will have the biggest impact on their teams, with Dipo, KCP, McLemore and possibly Bazz in the next tier.

MKG is a pretty good example of what we can expect from Dipo this season. some kind of Kawhi/MKG/Allen combo of impact.

Depends what happens with Afflalo. Won't surprise me at all to see us bring along Dipo slowly. We do need to tank and all...

While this is certainly possible, I wouldn't be shocked if Dipo earns it in camp and literally explodes as a rookie. While I wasn't as keen on him as a pick, I get the feeling that, if given a little more slack in a less rigid system, his ability to get to the rim could blow people away.

Or, he could be a fifteen minute per game backup I suppose. But I don't think that's the plan. I think AA is gone and Dipo starts as a rookie.

I love that gif so much, but the stamp always bothered me. Here it is without the stamp:

dre, what do you actually do? are you a graphic designer? you're probably the best at working with graphics that i've seen on this site. (i know others on this site are designers, who probably don't bother doin magic related fan stuff, but you're definitely the most prolific)

Haha, thanks man. I am a student -- psychology/biomedical sciences major. Just have some free time since it's the summer. That GIF thing actually didn't require me to crack open the ol' photo editor at all. I just google'd: "convert youtube to gif," and followed the instructions: convert the youtube video to flv (at some website), convert the the flv to gif (at some website).

This. I don't think Oladipo's impact will be by scoring a bunch of points. He seems like a do it all player while his impact will be felt for the whole team thru his effort. Plus, the best leaders lead by example. A solid work ethic like JJ had, rubs off on other players like it did Hark. I am excited.

Although I like Marcus Smart and Andrew Harrison, they're still "what-if's" as they haven't played at the NBA level yet and who knows if we are even in position to draft one of them.

We already have our youth and with that, we'll have to pay for it when our current youth are eligible for extensions (Harris and Vucevic will be 1st up). I know a lot of people want to be conservative, but to be competitive you can't keep drafting and acquiring youth. I think it's safe to say we have our foundation, now it's all about developing and letting it grow. With the Bledsoe deal, it's equalivent to Affalo's ($/annually) and in my eyes a safe investment to add to our core hence why I would make it now, rather than later. With Bledsoe added to our core along with the deal I mentioned we'd still be flexible where we could eventually extend Tobias, Vucevic, and Harkless with no problems whatsoever.

Bledsoe is a proven commodity, but only as an average to below average PG. His passing skills are below average, his shooting skills are much below average. almost $8mil a year for that is a bit too much for a player that still has issues running an offense.

Just saw this on hoopshype but article is from ESPN. Don't know how true this is or how it would effect our persuit of Bledsoe but figured id pass it along.

“So one possible outcome to the Clippers-Raptors talks, sources said, is a smaller trade headlined by Bargnani going to L.A. in exchange for Caron Butler, enabling the Clippers to save Bledsoe for a bigger trade -- or, perhaps, keeping him if Rivers holds firm."

I think he played really hard. Worst news of the week.

Yea I was sorry to read that too. He did play hard and he's got an NBA body and can jump out of the gym. But he's pretty raw in the other aspects of his game. But he could get brought back if he doesn't get a significant offer from another team.

As a starter, his stats are pretty close to Nelson. Slightly less of a playmaker, significantly better defender. I'd still take a chance and see if he can blow it up playing 32-36 minutes per game. I bet he can surprise a lot of people.

Plus as someone else posted, Henny was with OKC when he was first drafted. The guy obviously stores all those past evaluations in a databank somewhere. If he goes after him, it's pretty likely he's a Henny type of player.

While he plays hard, I didn't see a whole lot of improvement from beginning to end of season. Seems like a good guy, but easily replaceable.

Absolutely. I'm thinking stats near James Harden's second year in the league. I could see him averaging 12/4/4 his rookie year on high efficiency.

Wouldn't shock me to see him be out 6th man this season. I think he can be an awesome '10-'11 Harden or Ginobili. He'll score the ball efficiently, get the rack and hit open 3's, and then become a primary ball handler when on the floor. Especially if we land Andrew Wiggins next season, I could see us using Oladipo's energy off the bench. That's not selling him short either.

I am all for having a very good defender at the PG position. That could disrupt an opposing teams offense. A good coach like SVG has proven that a good run set offense doesn't need great passers.

Will the summer league be broadcasted anywhere? NBA TV?
