I love the fact that Kemba is taking his leadership role of this young team very seriously

zeller is going to do wonders for kemba in the pick and roll. teams will have a harder time blitzing kemba on the picks like they did last year.

Not sure who is more of a gym rat. Walker, MKG, Biyombo or Zeller

I wouldn't bet against any of them.

I think Biz is the biggest gym rat out of them all but Kemba get the most results out of them.

You have to imagine that Zeller would be a good pick and roll partner for Kemba. What's more worrisome is that he'll have had 3 different coaches in his first 3 years. Hopefully there is some consistency the next few years and we can get some really nice production out of Kemba as he enters his prime.

One of them has to be told to go home. Case closed.

Kemba+Cody=quickest pick and roll duo in the league?

won't mean much if Hendo and MKG aren't enough of a threat in the corners. its up to you Mark

They may be. There are some 4 and 5 guys out there that would be close. The real question is where some of the foreign guys would rank if we had their sprint and agility numbers. Man I forgot how well Nene tested out back in the day.

The only problem with a Kemba & Cody P&R is that Cody needs to drastically improve his ability to finish in traffic.

Agreed, but as long as he can finish better than Biyombo (likely) & attack the rim by not settling for jump shots like Mullens (likely) then it will be a major upgrade. I didn't initially like the Zeller pick either because I thought Noel falling to Charlotte was a very fortunate break that they bypassed, but I preferred Zeller over McLemore or Len, so it's growing on me. Kemba will love having a player of Zeller's ability to play along with

You and me could probably finish better than Biyombo.

If Cody runs the floor like he did at IU Kemba will find him, I could see Cody getting 2-3 baskets a game just by his ability running the floor.

Bobcats’ Kemba Walker takes lead by being in Charlotte

For point guard Kemba Walker, flying to Charlotte this week was no big deal: A chance to get some summertime run on the basketball court and an opportunity to spend time with the coaching staff and rookie Cody Zeller.

To new Charlotte Bobcats coach Steve Clifford, it was huge.

“It shows a commitment, a seriousness about getting better,’’ Clifford said after morning practice Tuesday. “He’s going to practice twice today, completely on his own. From both a basketball and leadership standpoint, it speaks volumes.

“It will speed up the process for everybody.”

Walker, the Bobcats’ leading scorer last season, volunteered to work out with the summer-league team this week. As team president of basketball operations Rod Higgins sometimes says, Walker has been handed the keys to the car. This is his way of living up to that faith.

...also a excerpt commending the new offseason additions of Cody Zeller & Al Jefferson

Sometimes that means sticking up for teammates, as in when he texted Higgins on draft night to endorse the team using the fourth pick on Indiana forward Cody Zeller. One of the things that hopefully come out of this week is Walker and Zeller learning how to play off each other in the pick-and-roll.

“He can make the medium-range shot, he can roll, he can finish.’’ Walker said of Zeller. “Cody is a guy who will help us a lot. He plays so hard, he runs the floor. He’ll rebound. He’ll be a good teammate.’’

The Bobcats are expected to formally sign center Al Jefferson to a three-year, $41 million contract Wednesday. After overseeing an offense that averaged just 93 points and 42 percent shooting from the field last season, Walker sees Jefferson’s addition as a godsend.

“Was I excited? I almost shed a tear,’’ Walker said. “That’s what we need: A guy we always can go to to get a bucket.’’

Zeller can finish alright.

As long as Cody grew a couple of testicles this summer and goes up stronger than a dandy boy than he'll be okay.

You sure do have an awful lot of hate for Zeller. Kind of humorous.

So who's going to pay the $150k fine for bringing up Al? Bonnell or the Bobcats?
