PG-Stuckey
SG-KCP
SF-Mitchel
PF-Monroe
C-Dre
Stuck might not be the shooter that knight is but he is the better slasher, passer, ball handler, defense at pg is a wash to me,stuck is bigger, that lineup is pretty athletic/dominate.Stuck has been in a longer situation than knight for having no one to pass to and this would be the 1st year he would have a complete team since he was drafted.

As much as Kravstov has been a ghost for this team even with limited playing time, we need him to at least play backup for us, unless we can somehow get a cheaper but same/better backup in FA. I'm going to guess that we can't or won't.

on a more talented team, stuckey wont look so bad. he could actually be effective again. i can see him being a really solid backup point/sg if he does not have to try and be far and away the best player on the floor.

kravtsov may aswell be the 15th man. drummonds the sort of player who might struggle to play all 82 games without a few games off with niggles or a significant injury. in that case moose would start at center most likely and we go smaller but slava might need to play a few minutes. im hoping we sign another pf/c that can play 20+ minutes in FA though

I'd like to see Stuckey get cut and Krastov get traded for a salary dump. Like Krastov to Boston for Courtney Lee and a pick or something along those lines.

Both will be kept around. Kratvsov is a cheap seven footer dept center - we need size on our bench. Stuckey could be traded depending on how the rest of the off-season plays out, Joe might have some big plans in free agency, but he could also get shut out. So Stuckey will be kept around until after we make any starter point guard or 2-guard signings.

Amnestying CV might be all we do this offseason, as far as clearing more cap, and even that's questionable.

Unless we are going to actually throw money at a couple of stars, I wouldn't cut Stuckey. I'd rather try everything to trade him. An $8 mil expiring rotation player has some value.

CV probably has less value, but he's an expiring as well.

I'd be ok cutting English or Slava, but they don't free up much money.

We've got quite a bit of cap space already. Unless we're trying to max multiple FA's, it's probably more than we're going to use this off-season.

Cut Slava. He's a zero, and you can replace his production for the league minimum.

Stuckey needs to go, but I probably keep him as an expiring deal for now. Wouldn't be upset either way, so long as he's not starting in the fall.

I'd much rather have MItchell than Slava To be honest.

Per Stein's twitter, Stuckey will not be waived.

Why would we cut Stuckey or amnesty Charlie V? We've stuck with them so long now, might as well hold on to them one more year as they will actually have value as expirings. It would be stupid to do otherwise.

^ This.

Exactly. Expiring contracts are assets. And Stuckey can absolutely play in this league - so, he, in particular, will have serious value around the league. Plus, and I know nobody wants to hear this, but Stuckey in combination with Knight and KCP, could be a very strong backcourt in time, and in the short term, Stuckey could absolutely be the ballhandler the team needs to deal with high pressure defenses.

IMO, the team would be wise to sign a decent FA point guard for a deep bench guy who can step in when we do finally trade Stuckey. (It's hard to imagine that Stuckey will ever be considered a long-term core guy by the Pistons, so it's pretty likely that we'll trade him within a year at most).

As I expected, really it didn't make any sense to just cut him when the extra $$$ wouldn't net us a better player. And while I've given up on him as an All-Star, I still think he could be a useful player for us, and a valuable contributer.

Keeping them both is not a bad idea. It allows Joe to use all of the $20 mil in FA, yet still retain trade flexibility by having $17 mil in expiring in case an opportunity comes up where a team is looking to dump a good player for expiring contracts. So his $9 mil expiring contract is probably worth more than the $4.5 in capspace had we bought him out. Its also possible he already has a trade lined up for Stuckey and that team requested us to pickup that last year for them.
