 Nicely played. This selection is a stunner given the stated desire to stick with high-character players.
Had we ended the night with Zeller & Rice it would make a lot more sense. This is puzzling and doesn't make basketball sense unless Rice can play SG.

Fortunately, Rice can play SG. Or at least he thinks he can. He said he was more of a SG than SF, but capable of both. His measurements fall right in line with that assessment.

When is EG's contract up? Just wondering.

I have been fairly critical of eg, but I have to give him credit for a strong draft. Being able to move up significantly with the 54th pick was a good move.

Glen rice was a low risk high reward move. Porter was a solid pick, Bennett and oladipo really were the strongest alternatives and off the board.

You can't really tell what is a strong draft right after it happens. The Otto pick was fine. At least they don't seem to blow top 3 picks. But you need more then that from a GM.

Wizards got good grades on the Ves draft. Well even if Ves ends up working out, Singleton and Mack where busts.

I haven't been as hash on EG as most here by freaking out after every non top 3 pick move they have made but I don't leave this draft going wow, what a great GM. Actually, I think it was a bad move for them to take GR with that 2nd in a trade up. It just doesn't fit with Teds mandate. Why go off the plan for a 2nd round pick. Specially when there where players on the board that fit with in the plan.

EG hasn't sucked but he hasn't been great either. Personally, I'm about done with him. He just doesn't instill confidence. I don't see the comprehensive system in place. If there was one, they wouldn't have picked GR.

But I do like Randy so I hope he can make a name for himself this year and stick around.

Yeah, but I don't know that EG would have known what to do with it, other than trade it or sell it.

Clearly there weren't any offers of draft picks for Crawford, otherwise he would've taken it instead of an injured player that will never play for the Wizards and an expiring veteran big man that wasn't even better than our scrubs. And even if we could have got a draft pick, it would have been in the 50s at best, and clearly we were just going to trade/sell it, so it's no big deal.

Iam just saying. Because I would have liked to see a Wall/Beal/Crawford/Nene kind of lineup. But oh well

All in good tradition, bumping the thread because EG added a player.

I don't know EG. I just don't know.

So anyone got the official countdown on this contact. Maybe a programer can start one of those internet clocks and make it a widget for a signature.

I don't like how our number one FA goal, right when July 1st hits, is to sign an injury ridden backup PG with bad stats.

Waiting for the dreadful news this off-season regarding Ernie's extension. I'd be surprised if Ted left him as a lame duck GM going into the next year.

This is a sad countdown. With their core rebuilding pieces in-place, Ernie/Ted will declare it a new day and Ernie will receive an extension :(

I doubt we win 48. I think our best case scenario is a ceiling of like 45 wins, similar to that 04-05 team. 48 is too close to 50 and this team is not a 50 win team.
