His contract is for about 4 mil next year. I'd rather spend that money towards a position we actually need. We can probably get the same impact off the bench from Jerebko or Mitchell without it costing anything.

What we see in Robinson is probably not what Joe D and his scouts see. Therefore, no trade. The two Euros Joe has in his pocket are not the same as the two Euros needed to make the trade.

I don't think I would give that much for him. Robinson's ceiling is likely a "nice back up" F/C. We already have Mitchell, who's the same size, but more athletic and with superior range.

Sorry to be picking at you again, Heisenberg, but where in the world would you get that his 'ceiling' is a nice back up? TRob clearly didn't immediately figure it out last year, but he still put up 11.5/11 (4 orebs) per 36. That puts him top 20 in oreb rate, top 30 in overall rebound rate. And he was 21 years old this season. Should be an elite rebounder no matter what, and there's loads of potential on offense. He's very strong and has a nice stroke, and he's not 'undersized,' he's 6'9 and a lean 245. Has all the tools-- that's why he was a top 5 pick-- but needs a few years to integrate into the NBA game. I wouldn't guarantee he's an all star or anything but he's still a very nice prospect.

That's a terrible argument. Using per36 numbers on players who can barely get 15 minutes per game is just not a smart thing to do. He's a year or so younger than Monroe and no where near his level. Pass and a half.

Robinson has a boat load of talent.

1 year ago exactly he was touted as a potential future all star big, hes light years away from being a "bust".

While I didnt really care if we got him because he wasnt a need, Amazing get for Portland, they gave up nothing & got a potential heir apparent to Aldridge.

**** what I said, I'll give 2 unprotected firsts up if it means Joe D doesn't have a reason to get JSMoove.

I'm not sure what numbers you would prefer; rookie big men often don't play big minutes, so quoting their per game averages doesn't help you see what they were and weren't good at. J Noah averaged 7/6 as a rookie but his per 36 indicated he was a good rebounder and solid at block, steal, and assist rate. Drummond's 8/7.5 don't look very good until you give his per-minute stats. Same deal with Derrick Favors, Andrew Bogut, and other rookie bigs who aren't primarily scorers.

I'm curious why you'd say it's a 'horrible argument' instead of one that's imperfect. Yeah, it's very possible that those numbers don't carry over into bigger minutes. But how is it not better than arguing 'he couldn't start as a rookie so he's f*cking awful!'

And why does 'not as good as our 23 year-old stud' mean not worth two second rounders and a couple of euros?

I can't believe how hypocritical people can be here sometimes.

Over the years, I read too many I want Milsap posts. It took Milsap years riding the bench as a backup to become the player he became. TRob is Taller than Milsap while only being 21 years old. TRob could become the next Milsap or even better as his ceiling.
