If TO is gonna trade Gay to Detroit. no doubt Kyle Lowry will also be in that deal.

I can't imagine they're actually blowing it up. Trading Bargnani and acquiring a first is in no way blowing anything up. That's addition by subtraction. And a first is an awesome asset to have as well.

Gay going back to a team being built like Memphis. That would be interesting. The thing about Rudy, he plays a lot of iso, like star players do, but he's really not good enough at it.

He's alluring, but his price tag doesn't nearly warrant his production. If he's traded twice in one calendar year, that should certainly be proof of that thesis.

Tough to say. A ton of comments made by the new regime in the last month or so make it seem like blowing it up is a very strong possibility.

Also Colangello just stepped down from his new spot. Most of the speculation is that he didn't want to be around while his team was dismantled in front of him.

1) Gay

2) Iggy

everyone else a distant 3.

Knight
KCP
Gay
Monroe
Drummond

Yeah fellas, this is a playoff team & imagine what this team could be in a few yrs when Drummond develops.

Shooters everywhere, 2 great bigs, size, a great closer & creator in Gay.

Gay is a really good player. He is just over paid, and that really hurts his "image" as a player.

You could spend your cap space in waaayyyy worse places (CV, Gordon)

Straight Singler/English/2nd and a HUGE TPE for Gay?

Or Singler/2nd/CV/smaller TPE for Gay?

Would be a fantastic deal for Detroit. Would love to see Gay there.

Except, the Raps just got more Value than that for Andre Bargnani.

And like I said ... If Gay gets traded to the Pistons, I would be shocked if Lowry isn't going there with him.

Gay + Lowry would be wicked with the Pistons. Both play +++ defense, add that with Drummond and they will be touhg as hell to play againsy

Will be interested to see what kind of influence Cheeks will have signing his former player Iggy.

Gay makes $17.9 million this year and $19.3 million next year... The only way I would trade for gay would be if we were sending out both Stuckey and CV so our cap hit would be just $1 million this year.

We'd still have nearly $20 million to spend on other FA's

All things considered- I'm surprised there's not more talk about Trevor Ariza. He's making a little under 8 million next year on the last year of his deal. While his numbers have been down, most feel that it's because of the terrible Wizards teams he's been on the last couple seasons.

He can shoot the three, and provide perimeter defense. Washington is talking about pursuing Martell Webster who is a 2/3, they have Otto Porter now. I imagine Washington isn't going to be terribly attached to Ariza.

Why not swap Stuckey for Ariza? Similar salary, we get a starting SF without a long term commitment, and the Wiz get a 1/2 backup for Wall and Beal, who rounds out their guard rotation with Eric Maynor.

I'm totally on board with that. But Joe Dumars seems to be ignoring the entire second tier of players while they get snapped up and he's waiting for Iguodala or Smith.

Return to Detroit Pistons
