Re: The 2013 free agency thread.
I don't know. Smith is in Detroit tonight and Woj says its a substantial 4 year offer, so I'm assuming max.
Maybe they still bring Drummond off the bench? Maybe they are trading Monroe? I don't know. Smith seems like a terrible fit for that team

I don't see how all three of them work together...Monroe has to be on his way out

Their pick should be 15-17 at the latest. Sounds great to me.

As free agency opens, the Charlotte Bobcats are pursuing Jazz forward Al Jefferson, a league source tells @CBSSports.

Wow, ending the rebuild? Gunning for the playoffs while (it seems like) the entire Eastern Conference tanks for Wiggins.
I wonder if Eric Gordon is in play as well with the Pelicans making a huge offer to Tyreke Evans.

Will be nice to finally have a competent front court.

Right after drafting a power forward that plays mediocre defense?

God I hope we don't end up giving him big money. Much rather see it go to Pek.

Re: The 2013 free agency thread.
Seriously, going after Jefferson makes no sense right now. As much as I'd love to have a 20/10 guy, we just drafted Zeller, and we might be simply too talented to tank with Jefferson here. We seriously should not be doing this.

Re: The 2013 free agency thread.
We have had just about the worst 10 years of basketball any team could have....why are we getting good players in free agency now when the best draft in the last 4 years is upon us???? I just don't follow this logic at all. This year should be about developing the players we have, grabbing Wiggins, Parker or Randle even, then go balls deep in free agency and make a playoff run. But not now....NO NO NO NO.

Re: The 2013 free agency thread.
While I agree you can always sign shooters to reasonable contracts, but most the time those guys are one trick ponies. Ideally they are bench players who see limited minutes each night. That being said their is a value to having a guy who is more of an all around player, who can start and knock down threes. Its advantageous to have a guy on the floor for 36 minutes a night who can shoot, rather than a specialist who is going to see 12-20 minutes a night. More opportunities and defense must respect him more often.
Especially down the stretch of a game when you want to have your starters on the court. It would be nice to have Mayo on the court rather than a guy like Garcia.
And its would make us more dynamic season to season, having Mayo as part of the core, rather than having to worry about finding a new free agent every 1 or 2 years to shoot each off-season.
Ideally, I would prefer to have a starter who can shoot the three ball consistently along with a guy who can spell starters that can play multiple positions and hit shots.
So, to me I would prefer to have Mayo over Henderson in the starting lineup and then have a guy like Dunleavy or Morrow who can come off the bench as a reliable wing backup and hit threes.

Highly doubt, he would be willing to take such paycut. Maybe they have more cap space, but Monta seems like "Show me the Money!!!!" kind of guy...

Free agency is a two way street. I would be shocked if Mayo wanted to play for CHA.
OJ Mayo should sign with the Clippers. Perfect fit.

I think he needs the ball in his hands too much to fit well next to Paul.
