No thanks...

Bogut/Klay/Barnes > Dwight

In order of value:

1) Building around Dwight Howard
2) Cap space/Luxury tax saving from Dwight leaving
3) Building around or with a free agent from 2014 or 2015
4) Bogut and one of Klay/Barnes

In short, Mitch is no moron, you won't get Dwight without both Barnes and Klay coming to LA. With that said, good luck next year.

P.S. Curry/Howard is a core second only to WB/Durant and LBJ/Wade... and guess what, if you want, you will have to pay dearly to get it.

Apparently your missing some key points:

1) Bogut is still a top tier center and he is set to expire. How exactly do you replace Dwight?
2) Klay or Barnes are assets and do not affect your cap space in any way because they can create cap space if needed.
3) Taking on Biedrins and/or RJ do not affect 2014 cap space as they also expire.

So basically you get a year to try out Bogut and see how he fits while mulling over a possible extension. Worst case scenario is you get a budding player in Klay or Barnes instead of losing Dwight for absolutely nothing. What's not to like or am I missing something here? I'm sure we would throw in a 1st to sweeten it if needed.

1) If Dwight walks, in the eyes of the public it will inevitably be because our FO didn't try hard enough.
2) Trading Dwight up the road is about as bad of a PR move as there is (unless we traded him to LAC).
3) Why would we want to pay Bogut's luxury tax hit just to acquire ONE of Klay or Barnes? What has Bogut proven other than he's capable of being an effective rehabber (to an extent) and we already have one of those in Kobe. The cap space and luxury tax savings are much more lucrative to our future then taking on Bogut for just one of Klay/Barnes.

what do you mean "didn't try hard enough"?

if dwight walks, its because he doesn't want to play here anymore, whether he doesn't like the odds of winning or just didn't jive with the team/city/whatever and those reasons heavily outweighed the boatload of more money he could get by staying

Sorry but I find it find it funny how You guys want everything the Warriors have but you guys got him for a center on bum knees and a 2nd round pick. Barnes, Thompson, Bogut picks ain't happening. and it'd be a shame if it did.
