2013 NBA FA
Who should OKC go after in FA? I personally think OKC should look for another shooter/big-man that can help us with their title run. I don't think Adams will help OKC with their title run.
And that Harden trade was terrible! OKC is trying to chase for a title, not rebuild into a young team again. And OKC won't win another title if they keep Perkins/Brooks on that roster for another year. I under-stand OKC don't have any money to sign big FA, but at-least try to sign a decent guy that can take the load off of KD/WB.
KEY FA:
J.J Redick
Kyle Korver
Greg Oden
Sameul Dalembert
Marco Belinelli
EMEKA OKAFOR!
Andray Blatche!( He can rebound....)
Carl Landry
JJ HICKSON!
And I hope OKC can try to get rid of Perkins some how.. I don't want to see him in a OKC uniform again!

Re: 2013 NBA FA
Okafor won't be a free agent
Blatche will be too expensive and is unlikely to leave bk
Redick will command at least the MLE, if we were willing to spend that much Martin would be back
Korver is an interesting option but I doubt he comes to OKC to be the 3rd guard off the bench.
Don't know that we have any interest in oden, I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on him though. Don't know that he'd come to OKC.
Landry and hickson will both probably be out of our price range too.
We're 90% sure to sign a 3rd string pg. telfair is available but would probably prefer a situation where he's a 2nd stringer. Maybe beno udrih? No clue how much he'd be looking to make.
We may need a center but we already have 4 on the roster, if we can afford dally we'd dump either orton/thabeet or maybe both.
I wouldn't hold my breath until perk is off the team if I were you.

“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

I think I agree w all of this, except I could see Redick replacing Martin if he decides to leave OKC, but really have no idea.
As for another pg, I remember seeing months ago maybe interest in Nolan Smith but dunno.

If they don't believe Lamb, sign Reddick.

Any MLE player that willing to give us a discount has to be considered, if not really hard to see us signing anyone.

Re: 2013 NBA FA
Houston apparently just waived Carlos Delfino to create more salary caps space. 30 years old, 6'-6" 230, I thought he played real well for Houston off the bench last season,

I like delfino, and we do need a shooter, but he'll probably be re-upping in houston who will have a larger role for him if they sign Dwight.

I thought if a player was waived or amnestied he couldn't sign with that team for a year?

Someone else might know better, but I'm pretty sure he had a team option. Otherwise dumping him wouldn't make sense, as he'd still be on their cap.
Edit: also, I think that only applies to trades and amnesties.

Still OKC needs some one that can spread the floor for them. Delfino would be good off the bench, however he would have to be cheap. What do you guys think of Asik? Rockets might consider trading him.

Asik's a pipe dream, it'd have to be a three way deal where Hou is getting something that fits well with Dwight and we'd have to have something more enticing to the 3rd team than Asik. I don't see any team that fits that criteria outside of maybe Boston, but Hou would have to really like Brandon Bass and Terry or Lee.
I wonder about
OKC out- S&T Martin/Perkins/Dal 1st/OKC 1st/PJIII
OKC in- Asik
Houston out- Asik
Hou in- Martin/Bass/filler
Boston out- Bass/filler
Bos in- Dal 1st/ OKC 1st/PJIII/Perkins
Houston could probably get more for Asik, although this gives them a nice bench scorer and a stretch 4.

I think it was unguaranteed so they can waived him away. Guess if they resign him it'll be for cap or veteran minimum whichever is left.

Re: 2013 NBA FA
A little news that the Thunder targeted Dorell Wright on the first day of free agency.
Did you know Wright played 79 games with Philadelphia last season and averaged 23mpg?
Around 6'-10" 220, shoots around .370% from beyond the arc, hits his free throws. Not a big rebounder, but not a ball stopper. Got some publicity as a possible defensive stopper early in his career at Miami, but hasn't exactly wowed in that area in the last 4 years. Brings height and allows for the team to bring another shooter with size for match ups.
PJ3, just keep shooting, just keep shooting.

Sadly, I wouldn't have even guessed Philly with my first 5 tries for what team he was on last year. That being said, not a ball stopper is a good thing, and he has some size, which would also help.

Re: 2013 NBA FA
Wright is one of the guys around the league that's a bottom rotation type that I really like. I'd be very happy if we signed him but I don't know how his salary expectations look. Apparently presti feels they'll be in line with what we can offer though, so there must be a fair chance.

Re: 2013 NBA FA
While it’s not known if Kevin Martin will leave the Oklahoma City Thunder in free agency, the Thunder want to make one thing clear if he does – they want to sign and trade him.
According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, the Thunder are ‘determined’ to sign and trade Martin if they get the feeling he’s leaving.
Per Stein:
Word is OKC determined to try concoct sign-and-trade if they know they’re losing Martin but even that’s tough given lack of $ wiggle room
Oklahoma City can’t afford to pay Martin very much as they’re attempting to avoid the NBA’s luxury tax, so Martin has a choice – win or play for the money. Few teams will have a better chance at reaching the NBA Finals outside of the Thunder and Martin, who spent a large majority of his career playing for a woeful Sacramento Kings team thoroughly enjoyed playing on one of the leagues elite teams last year.
Still, it’s not easy to turn down hefty sums of money and with the amount of interest Martin is receiving, somebody is going to offer him more than what the Thunder can afford.
Looks like OKC wants to trade K-Mart. I wonder which team would be interested..
