Re: Discussing Other Teams' Moves Part 2
I wonder if Bynum ends up with the Mavs? Seems like a the type of high-risk, high-reward move that Cuban seems to like. I don't think Dallas is too likely to get Dwight.

Seems like they just wanted to part ways with Bargs and this was a better option than amnesty. Looking at the east, they could compete for a playoff spot IMO if JV improves and they add another piece.
That was their old gm Bryan collangello. They are under new management
True, but I view Bargs as separate from whatever their plan might be. So I don't take what happens to him as an indication of what they'll do next.

Details on the Howard/Hou meeting via Woj....
Y! SPORTS
Y! SPORTS
The Houston Rockets' dinner presentation to free-agent center Dwight Howard at the Hotel Bel-Air centered on the franchise's championship history and an infrastructure designed to give Howard a chance at multiple titles, sources with knowledge of the meeting told Yahoo! Sports.
Houston has emerged as the frontrunner to sign the Los Angeles Lakers center, league sources said, and those close to Howard confirmed late Sunday that the Rockets did nothing to dampen Howard's enthusiasm for the possibilities of playing for Houston.
Beyond Houston Rockets owner Les Alexander, general manager Daryl Morey, his front office staff, and coach Kevin McHale, the organization brought Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler to make cases to Howard about ownership's long commitment to winning and its relationships with its iconic players.
"Hakeem didn't say much, but what did he say was very impactful," one source in the room told Yahoo! Sports. Olajuwon talked about the Rockets as a destination for championships and drew upon his own personal relationship with Howard, sources said.

Late thoughts:
- Can't believe Delfino was cut. A necessary evil if Howard is to be signed but damn, some team out there better snatch him up. The Lakers could definitely use him.
- The Rockets would be pretty much 1b to the Wizards if they sign Howard. They were just so damn fun to watch. Adding a guy who could potentially average 15+ rebounds a game in that system would just be piping for the icing that goes on the cake.

Sean Deveney: Just heard that Pelicans offer to Tyreke Evans would be 4 years, $40 mil. That's a $35 mil-per-year backcourt, assuming Eric Gordon stays Twitter @SeanDeveney
Sean Deveney: Pelicans would bring Tyreke Evans off the bench in a Manu Ginobili-style role, source says. Not saying it'll work. But that's the idea. Twitter @SeanDeveney
Wow, didn't see that coming. If he signs, I can't see them being able to move Gordon. I guess the next step would be to shop Rivers+Vasquez for help at SF? Webster S&T?

Delfino off the waiver wires? I'd love to have Vasquez back in town but I'd target Ryan Anderson. He'll forever be a bench player if Anthony Davis is in town.

I would definitely like to see Houston get Howard. They have had bad luck over the years with injuries (Tmac,Yao) and are a well managed club.
And i have had enough of the Lakers.

Re: Discussing Other Teams' Moves Part 2
Bobcats apparently are heavily interested in Al Jefferson.
Walker/Sessions
Henderson/Gordon
Kidd-Gilchrist
Zeller/McRoberts/Thomas
Jefferson/Biyombo
That team possibly makes the playoffs in the East provided Zeller isn't a total bomb of a draft pick.

As free agency opens, the Charlotte Bobcats are pursuing Jazz forward Al Jefferson, a league source tells @CBSSports.

With a little "luck" in the lottery and a little help from the Wizards, New Orleans seemed on the verge of a good team around a future star. Suddenly, it looks like they've decided to build a Wizards-style mediocrity with a superstar surrounded by a bunch of overpaid, overrated, relatively average (judged by WS/48) players.

Pelicans with a 4 year $48 million offer to Tyreke Evans???
If that's the market for mediocre combo guards than Wall's max contract would be a bargain.

Re: Discussing Other Teams' Moves Part 2
(Doug) Collins, who declined comment for this article, made a push for more power, for control of all player personnel decisions - which at the time was then team president Rod Thorn's responsibility. According to sources with intimate knowledge of the situation, Collins wanted to sign center Kwame Brown to a guaranteed five-year, $30 million deal before the lockout-shortened 2011-12 season.
Harris, on Thorn's advice, vetoed the signing. Unfortunately for the Sixers, it was revisited.
You can read more, including stuff about the Bynum mess (I didn't know they also gave up a first in that deal, yikes) here:

I don't understand what Denver is up to. Koufos was their starting center last season, they trade him for peanuts, and now they are negotiating a multiyear deal with Mozgov who rarely played?

Yeah that's what scares me about FA. Unless you're getting a superstar you're almost guaranteed to be overpaying.

BIg 3-way between the Suns, Clips and Bucks!
I still think the Clips need more/better bigs to legitimately contend.
