Trade for Gallinari?

Post#1 » by PistonPride » Tue Jul 2, 2013 3:05 am

If the Nuggets are serious about resigning Iggy and keeping Wilson Chandler, what is the possibility we could swing a deal for Gallo? I think he would be a perfect fit as a sharp shooting 3 and can play spot minutes at the four. I think the perfect offseason would be to trade for Gallo and then sign Tyreke to be our point, wed have shooters in Kcp and Gallo around Tyreke whos ability to get to the rim would be deadly in the Pick and Roll with drummond. I think Tyreke would accept a deal with us over New Orleans if we gave him the opportunity to be the primary ball handler.. If Greg Monroe can develop a mid range jumper that team would be deadly.
Im not sure if denver is willing to part with Gallo and for how much, but if theyre serious about resigning Iggy they need to get rid of some salary.

I'd love Gallo, don't know what we would have to offer for him.

Gallo is one of those players that is right on the edge of being overpaid. He's a decent floor spacer, decent at creating his own shot, doesn't stand out on defense, and is coming off an injury. He'd be the last place I looked for a SF upgrade (though he's obviously an upgrade to Singler).

Why do the Nuggets need to get rid of salary to resign Igoudala? They have $19 million before they hit the tax that they can use to resign Iggy and Mozgov, plenty of room.

Also this idea that the Nuggets are going to just give away Gallo is crazy, Iggy played SG for the Nuggets, Chandler was the primary backup 3/4 and will start at the 3 until Gallo is back. They need the depth. The only players on the Detroit roster that I could see the Nuggets really having interest in for Gallo is Monroe or Drummond.

.64 points per possession in isolation, .69 guarding the pick and roll is not stand out on defense? Fact is Gallo is criminally underrated by those who do not actually watch him play.

Gallo is really underrated as a defender, very good defender excellent at spacing the floor. You're right that the nuggets have the space to resign Iggy, I didnt realize that, I just think Gallo would be an ideal fit at small forward because hes a good defender and a deadly shooter, however im hoping we stay away from Josh Smith and stick with monroe and drummond. Outside of trading Monroe and drummond do you think there is any way the pistons can land Gallinari?

In all honesty it would probably cost us Monroe, and while i love Gallo and think Him/Smoove/Drummond would be unreal I don't know if I would give him up. If they happen to like Knight and some picks then I say roll with it but I doubt that happens.

I would love Gallo, he'd be a perfect fit, how could we get him though?

So basically what you are saying is, that a shooting challenged team should get rid of their best shooter to save a money they don't actually need to save? 0.o
