Well ,he did handle the ball more and averaged like 7.7 apg in the last 35 games of the season...not too far off :D
Steve Nash injures his back while carrying bags

Why this team is being written off:
1) kobe's injury: will he be ready for opening night, or miss a month or two of the season?
2) no quality big next to pau if dwight leaves, don't forget bynum and LO were vital to two rings...
3) starting backcourt ill be 35 and 38 when the season starts. they are both HOF caliber players, but they old and do not have the support old guys like kg and pp now do, nor do they have a younger star in his prime that can carry the load like duncan with parker.
4) mwp is not a starting quality player anymore
5) bench is gonna be jordan hill, blake, meeks - no depth
6) cannot add FAs because they are well over the cap w/out dwight already and want cap space for 2014.

Why they have a chance:
1) kobe is an all time great, no doubt he comes back to form
2) great FA pool this yr, and LAL is a team that can give a flying f*ck about the cap. 100 mill in salaries last season
3) they can add bench depth

sucks to tank for one yr, but they might have to since i do not see them in the playoffs this year

Plus, lakers have highest payroll in league... Houston wouldn't and couldn't even remotely afford the lakers roster this year. Doesn't make any sense... Kobe w one ankle is still better than the beard

highest payroll for 2nd oldest roster. Only way lakers improve is whe kobe leaves and they PRAY durant or lebron will give them a look. Dwight being the only notable player on your team = lottery.
