Kyle Korver would love to be resigned

The Atlanta Hawks have let Kyle Korver know that they want to re-sign him in free agency this offseason, and the interest in staying together is mutual.

“They said they would like to work something out, so we’ll talk in July,” Korver said. “I really enjoyed my year here in Atlanta. I enjoyed the team. I enjoyed the organization. I believe (general manager) Danny Ferry is going to do some great things here. I think he has a great opportunity to bring in guys who are going to play fun basketball.

“You know the vision he has. You know the kind of basketball that he likes to watch, and I think he’s going to bring in those types of guys, and I like the same basketball that he likes. So, I’m very open to coming back here.”

Korver, obtained in last offseason's trade with the Chicago Bulls, will become an unrestricted free agent July 1.

I also like Korver, but it seems odd we'd tell him we would pursue him without input from our next coach.

Certain coaches, particularly defensive ones, would have a hard time giving him consistent PT with his defensive limitations. Particularly in the playoffs.

NOT necessarily. Plenty of defensive coaches would limit his PT because of his defensive deficiencies.

The 30 mpg and the 60 starts were the most he's received since 2007.

Thibs in Chicago limited his PT big time. That's why he was available to us in trade.

Korver is welcomed back by the fans in my opinion. Ashton has become a fan favorite.

He'll have better options available to him, not only to win, but also to make just as much money.

If the Hawks can get Dwight or Al Jefferson, then great, glad to have 2K back. but if the Hawks are just going to tank for a draft pick, then what is the point.

I don't want to see him signing with BKN, he's like the missing piece for them so their offer is certainly interesting.

We can offer a bit more and for more years, but the main problem IMO is that at this moment, the project of ATL is unclear while BKN has already his roster known.

I hope Kyle will wait until we know more about our roster, and that it will look like a good project for him.

Hawks have bigger fish to fry at the moment but when everything settles down, i would love to pay Korver what he deserves. Hawks shouldn't have a hard time re-signing Kyle, the Nets, Pacers, and Bulls are maxed out and won't be able to offer him more that what Atlanta can offer. the Jazz could make a pitch and offer the most money, but i really doubt they would be interested in Korver at this stage of their rebuilding process.

We have to offer more, because he will search for the "best chance at title/money" balance, and even if we get Howard and keep Josh or get another player for him, the BKN roster is solid and offer nearly the same chances.

Forgive me for repeating myself, but I'd love to sign Korver and put a youngster under him. I'd start Korver and whisper in the kid's ear, "You can start when you learn to play like THIS guy."

When we got him, I knew he could shoot. I never suspected what a knowledgeable player he is.

Jenkins i liked what I saw, but not really in the Korver league yet.

Korver is just a good reliable shooter. Kind of like MIke miller, Shane Battier, etc.

Right now I see everyone in holding pattern until the Dwightmare is over. Meanwhile, teams are stacking up with FA like Nets, Clippers, Grizz, BUcks, etc
