I really, really like Maynor and am glad he has slowly gotten back on track after dealing with injuries. It's sad to me that he had a biblically bad second unit to run with. I don't doubt that he would have shown even more with a better bench on hand. I'm sure he'll find similar success in DC...

Wiz fan here. His stats are pretty awful, but he's got a pretty decent reputation. Never watched him play. How did he play for you guys?

Plus, his strength is scoring. Why detract from that?

These same criticisms were leveled at Lillard last year, as a score-first point guard playing for a mid-major where he couldn't trust anyone to put the ball in the basket if he dished it.

McCollum probably isn't Lillard, but it's quite possible that he is a better passer than he has shown for the same reasons as Lillard.

on offense, he played pretty well. He averaged 7 assists/36 and did a decent job of getting the team into it's offense. He also shot 38% on 3's. He did average 3 turnovers/36, but the Blazers had an easy offense to anticipate so that may be a little higher then his norm

on the other hand, on defense he was a turn-style...a screen door...whatever analogy fits 'really bad'

Confirming @MrMichaelLee story, Wizards agree 2 sign @EMaynor3. Looks like a 2-year deal for bi-annual exception, player option yr 2.

Nope, cheap.

damn. I would have loved for portland to get him on that contract.

best of luck to him in the future... except when he plays portland.

Actually the Thunder had more turnovers per 100 possessions than did the middle of the road Blazers. Thus I think another explanation for his turnovers, rather than a more predictable offense, would be more helpful here.

Yeah, Portland really seems to be taking a leap of faith with McCollum. Considering Maynor is probably finally regaining strength in his knee from the ACL injury I think he really could be an ideal backup PG. I wish we would have offered him something like that and if CJ proved he could be the man then crossed that bridge when we got to that point. Maynor played his role really well before we seemed to go into tank mode for the year.

It looks like Maynor wasn't in the plans.

Darn, I liked him as the backup pg.. .
If he were a little better at D he would of been perfect.
Hmm.. .will the Blazers get a vet pg to help Lillard & CJ??
