It's also concerning that he declined as the season progressed, until he was AWFUL in May, with Dallas fighting for a playoff spot.

I was surprised by this but the reality is that Mayo quite easily beats BG out in that comparison.

The reality is that Mayo isn't worth more than the MLE.

I wasn't advocating Mayo at all but the fact that Mayo quite handily wins that comparison, in context BG signed a 5/55 contract with Detroit and Mayo is a better player than him as that comparison shows.

Tyreke Evans just signed a 4/48 offer sheet and Mayo is on that level easily.

I'm not really sure we should sign Mayo but the reality is if we can get him for 8m per at most then that is value in this league and the ChoBot loves value.

Sorry was off the grid for a few days.

No. They haven't signed him, but multiple reports are that they are pursuing him aggressively. I favored Wright as a potential target for Charlotte as a 3-point threat in free agency, but I doubt he'd reconsider the Thunder offer to take one from the Bobcats unless Presti lowball him to the point he finds it very disrespectful & explore other options

Nope. Tyreke is a far superior player to Mayo, he just hasn't been able to show it in the trainwreck that is the Kings game plan.

Until Tyreke shows it then we don't know otherwise.

The same can be said for Mayo and I would agree.

This has the potential to be either brilliant or excruciating for the NOP.

Pelicans are insane for offering that, for all of the good work their FO has done this is just insane.

Especially considering that they have to figure out how to trade Eric Gordon's absurd contract. It's going to be hard for them to convince another team to take on a max contract of a player that can't stay healthy unless it's in exchange for a player that's on a max contract that can't stay healthy like Amare Stoudemire on the Knicks. Maybe the Bulls would be interested in flipping Carlos Boozer's contract too, but I'm surprised that they offered Tyreke Evans such a deal without having their ducks in order first

1. If the Al Jeff pursuit fails, I like the idea of trying to steal rfa Timofey Mozgov from DEN. 26, 7'1, 250. I would see if 4.5mln/ 3 yrs pries him away from Den. That's a good price for a functional 7 footer in today's NBA.

2. Reports now that if NO can't trade Eric Gordon they will look to waive Robin Lopez (only $500,000 guaranteed) at which point he would be on the free agent market.

3. Mike Dunleavy and Francisco Garcia were my first choices for slick shooting wings this summer. Now sounds like Garcia will land in New York. Too bad.

I wouldn't consider Elton Brand a scorer anymore these days although he is capable of putting points on the board. The Knicks interest in Brand is as a veteran presence that know what he's doing on the floor, nothing more. As far as how much does he have left, I think he's still capable of a double-double (10-10) per 36, but NY probably wouldn't expect more than 8 points & 6 rebounds in 20 minutes

1. I don't think you sign Brand for his offense anymore. But he's still one of the best fundamental interior defenders in the league. Would be a great add to show our hopeless young paint defenders how to rotate in help defense. Looks like NY & DAL both want him, though.

2. RealGm now reporting that DEN reworking Mozgov's contract. Darnit, I thought I had a good idea there.

3. Was hoping to add a wing shooter & a big rebounder this summer. My favorite options are already quickly getting snatched up or shown interest by top teams while we kick the tires on Al Jefferson, who I get the impression doesn't want to be in CHA.

4. I sure hope we're still prioritizing Hendo & McBob.

Martell Webster just signed 4/22 with Washington. Thankfully that's not outrageous.

Edit: Can't get green font to work. Webster is horrible. Henderson will get at least 8 per.

Webster probably got slightly overpaid, but he had a really nice season for the Wiz. He shot 42% from three and poured in 11.4 pts a game while being a solid overall player. He is still only 26 (seems 32) and at 6'7'' he is not a horrible defender.

Wizards are going all in before the 2014 Draft!!!! what are they thinking hahahahahahahaha

Actually have a nice lineup with

Wall- Maynor
Beal- Rice Jr
Porter-Webster-Ariza
Nene- Booker
Okafor-Seraphin

I thought he would be decent bench scorer for us, but no way I would of paid him that much.

Wasn't really the money as much as the length of the contract. Good for him, though.

The Indiana Pacers have rescinded the qualifying offer to Tyler Hansbrough.

Hansbrough will become an unrestricted free agent.

Hansbrough has played a reserve role for the Pacers since being drafted in 2009. The Pacers' decision to re-sign David West made his return unlikely.

He was actually really good for the Wiz last year. Would've expected a shorter deal at about 4M/yr but this isn't all that outrageous at all.

They were all in last year when they traded for Nene, Okafor, and Ariza. They just really lucked into the #3 pick this year. They do have a good enough team to make the playoffs with Boston and Philly tanking and Milwaukee probably dropping out of the POs as well.

Damn that's some crazy money. Might've paid him half of that. Shouldn't the Spurs be looking at Jefferson or somebody? They have that much cap space.

Splitter is worth it to them. I would only sign Tyler if we don't get Josh McRoberts to sign. Washington could be a playoff team or last season could happen again.
