You gotta thing going with Nene. He loves to hit you cutting to the hoop. You aren't going to find that many places with a good passing big man like that.
Come back bro.
Your a Wizard for life. Don't worry, EG will be gone soon enough. And the GR Jr pick is just a fringe end of the bench replace C Martin EG pick. Don't let that get in your way. Talk to Randy and Ted and get it worked out.

It was not the right move and it showed a breach of faith in Webster. Was trading to acquire a backup SG/SF a need to address in round 2 of this draft -- after already drafting a SF in the lottery? NO. The Wizards should have valued continuity more.
People are acting like Webster doesn't even matter if he goes. His own statement above is why that guy should stay. As far as I'm concerned Martell Webster played as well as most starters last season. He is exactly the type of positive veteran and solid citizen that an organization should be proud to retain.
I don't think GRJ affects plans for Webster much. I don't think Rice has the length for SF. Rice has essentially the same wingspan and standing reach as John Wall. Rice is going to be our backup SG.

Ink that deal with the Wizards Webby. The team wouldn't be the same without you.

Sign Martell, trade Ariza or let his contract expire.

It sounds like it's only a matter of time until Martell Webster is officially back with the Washington Wizards. The Wizards could have him verbally agree to sign a new deal as soon as Monday.

Would be really disappointing if he signs elsewhere.

I was a little worried that the Thunder might go after him, especially if Kevin Martin's price tag gets too high, but fortunately it looks like they're focusing on Dorrell Wright instead (knock on wood). Pretty similar players, except I suspect Wright's perceived value is slightly less at the moment, and his previous team doesn't want to re-sign him, so there might not even be any competition. I want the Thunder to sign Martin or Wright ASAP so they don't come after Webster.

An incredibly dumb signing. Grunfeld is dumber than a box of rocks.

I'm happy he's back...I'm not happy he took Ernie to the cleaners. He's still a good player...now he's a 1mil a year overpaid player..but still a good player.

Re: Wizards Sign Martell Webster
I wasnt really happy with the money that Marty Tell got but I totally forgot hes only 26, hopefully he stays healthy (knock on wood)!!!
But a quick question, with GRJr possibly getting minutes and Tell starting at the 3 does anyone else get the sense that Otto may put on weight within a year and play some stretch 4 for us??? Or will we be looking to unload Ariza and maybe CSing and Ves?

So glad we resigned the Professor.
On pressure to make playoffs: “The city’s asking for it. The city needs it, but we can’t worry about everything else that’s going on outside of us and outside of what we want to do and what we want to accomplish, so I think us coming in here knowing the fact that we have some work to do, knowing that it’s not going to be given, knowing that every second that we’re on the court we need to be absorbing as much information so that we can make that push, understanding that we have to take it one practice at a time, one game at a time. We’re not just going to go in and stamp our name on the playoffs because that’s not the way it’s done. It’s done by hard work, not only on the court but in the video room, how you’re taking care of your body. The mental part of this game is crucial.”
Its awesome we finally have vets to help these young player become NBA mature so they develop faster. There is only so much a coach. You need players to lead as well.
