He is going to make Nate Robinson look like Bill Russell on defense.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Ehh. Guy with handles like him, great passing and court vision and a decent jumper wouldn't have gone undrafted if he was a great defender too. You give the kid a chance and see if you can work on his defense later. It's not like we need him to be great defensively as a rookie for our championship run, those days are gone. We can afford to have a little more patience with the young guys now..

Not the greatest sign when the Lions mascot at the end of the nightly news fluff piece shows better moves in 5 seconds than you did in the rest of the video combined...

That said, Pressey has some things going for him. Being the son of an NBA-er and being around the league his entire life should help him initially. He won't be scared, knows what's expected of him, and should hit the ground running. Second, he's got certain NBA-ready parts to his game--he can hit spot up jumpers from distance (at least the college line) and for most PGs that either never comes (because they always have the ball) or it comes 2-3 years down the line. He can also run the P&R at a pretty high level as well, with a good knack for playing angles, good vision, and a nice handle.

He's got brains, pedigree, spot-up shooting ability, and he can run offense--all the makings of a decent backup PG in the right system.

What he don't got is NBA athleticism. He's going to struggle at 5'11", not only height-wise but quickness-wise too, and that's not a good sign. Can he make it up with smarts, shooting, and moxie--perhaps, with 1-3 years seasoning in Europe or the D-League. But I think he's a huge longshot at best to make the team this fall. There was a reason he went undrafted.
The leaks are real...the news is fake.

I'm just here for the memes.

Looking forward to seeing Olynyk's face up game- from what I've seen of him at Gonzaga (Gonzaga's games at the Old Spice Classic are all on youtube), he saw most of his looks down low.

Hopefully Melo looks a little better too.

The Celtics announced Tuesday that they will practice July 4-6 in Orlando prior to the first game, on July 7.

Anyone know if the Practices will be televised anywhere?

I was curious about Colton Iverson and was looking at his game logs. He wasn't great in the tournament, but was very good against ranked teams in the regular season. He put up 18/11 against San Diego State, and 15/14 and 26/15 against New Mexico.

New article about him says he was much higher on the Celtics board. I wonder just how high they had him.

"Colton Iverson Ready to Bang Heads." Like the title.

Colton Iverson was one of the few guys I was watching closely a few weeks before the draft. I was looking for centers in the 2nd round and he was one of the few centers projected to go in the 2nd round. I was impressed with his stats and his youtube clips.

I watched the entire draft, hoping we would buy a 2nd round pick and get Colton. I'm glad Ainge got him. I hope Colton can help the Celtics win some games.

I am excited about the Sumer League. I'm looking forward to seeing Iverson, Olynyk, Pressey, and even Melo.

I want to hear the recorded conversation between Danny and Larry when Danny bought the Colton Iverson pick. It was right after the Pierce/Garnett trade.

No doubt Bird had something biting and funny as hell to say about Ainge finally burning the house down.

Maybe I'm misremembering, but didn't he have a monster game against UNLV (and 1st pick Anthony Bennett), too? Something like 24/16?
