I just can't see the Kings getting a high draft pick and tanking would lead to another year of an angry Cousins.

I'd rather take the chance on offering Cousins a lucrative extension than resign Reke for over $11m per.

Three scenarios:
1. Kings may have gotten wind they were being used as leverage so they pulled the offer.

2. a trade could be in the works

3. Kings gave Iggy a deadline

You're forgetting one thing... we're the Kings we don't get high draft picks

Serious!

And teams like the Clips have had lotto picks for decades. The draft is only one way to build.

LOL! Well, Stern is retiring this year! We also lucked out with Cousins and B-Mac so far.

But I was really wondering if you guys think Iggy is a better talent than those guys?

If Iggy was in next year's draft, where would he fall on that list?

This team to me has talent. How much talent, which is code for guys wanting/needing shots to be effective does a team need? You win when you start building a team and start filling the holes on your team. One common thread among championship teams are vets and fit.

Yeah, the team has talent. But like you said, it's about fit. As it's constructed right now, the pieces don't work together. I think the team is not 1, but 2 players away (SF and PF) from being able to make a deep run in the playoffs.

That means dumping Salmons, Jimmer, Thompson, Thornton, Hayes, Outlaw. I honestly believe that would be a playoff team with Mike Malone coaching. D'Alessandro said we will be aggressive, so I'm thinking he's gonna go back a few years and fix what went wrong in the past.

That's a playoff team?

Have you seen the west?
7 elite teams locked in for playoffs + MIN, NO, POR, DAL, LAL (if HOUston gets d12) all battling for 8th seed

You have to respect your conference and concede the next 2 years and tank

I do respect the conference and I do believe that the Kings have the right pieces to make a run at it. I'm not saying make a deep run in the playoffs, I said MAKE THE PLAYOFFS, which is reasonable. IF we can tweak the roster a bit, and IF Malone is the coach everyone expects him to be, you never know.

Off topic, BUT, look at the 49ers a few years ago with Singletary as coach. They had the pieces and a coaching staff that didn't know what they were doing. Very much similar to the Kings situation. Jim Harbaugh comes in, right coaching staff that knew what they were doing, make a few moves here and there, and BOOM, in two years you have a super bowl team.

I'm well aware who is in the western conference, but you never know what will/can happen. it's a long season, injuries happen, adjustments happen, trades happen, etc. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one that feels this team is done tanking and is ready to make a playoff run. If they don't make it, they will be very close to it.

Football is way different. In football 90% of teams like their chances of making the playoffs for many reasons but the biggest one is 16 games. And then 95% of teams in playoffs like their chances of winning at least 2 playoff games. Like you said 49'ers- they were inches away from possible superbowls two years in a row! That's why everyone loves football

Ironically check this out- the kings are about to lose Tyreke Evans for NOTHING!

The talented player that went 20/5/5 rookie year was NEVER cashed out. Granted even kings fans admit their management was incompetent but this is exactly my point. GM's refusing to do Long term trades.

RealGM.com where all players and coaches are scrubs except lebron and pop

(6/29/2013)
Pop and Lebron are officially scrubs due to questionable rotations and passive play in crunch time
