I got a feeling Dennis Schröder is gonna be nice though. Rondo with a jumper. I'll take that all day.

Have we all mastered the [alt] 0246 for ö? Schröder looks so much better than Schroeder.

You're gonna love Dennis Schroeder. Future All-Star, in my opinion. Hawks should let Teague walk and let this kid run the show.

I'd like to see what offers Teague gets and then decide. Perhaps he doesn't like his options and decides to sign the 1 yr qualifier. He then can try his luck for a big contract as an unrestricted FA. That would allow DF to bring Dennis the Menace in as a backup and see how they do. Personally, I'd rather have him here where he can grow at the highest level.

As a german, no. Schröder comes from north germany, and basicly means tailor.

schrôden = schneidern = tailoring

Bing says it's the guy who cuts the cloth for the tailor. Schroeder is from the German word "schroten" meaning to cut.

What's more interesting is his first name is from Dionysius and means "wild, frenzied."

So, what we have is a wild and frenzied cutter on the basketball court.

That...was American sarcasm.

A poor attempt at it anyway.

Drax wrote:Hi there, german Celtics fan here, love that the Hawks did take a flyer on Dennis.

Just wanted to throw some "inside information" to you guys. I saw Schröder twice this year playing against my hometown basketball team the Walter Tigers Tübingen in Germany and he crushed our guards. He was with out a doubt a top 3 point guard in Beko Basketball Bundesliga and won this season's MIP throphy.

The good stuff:
+ athleticism (lateral quickness, coast to coast player)
+ defense (on ball, p'n'r, good hands)
+ p'n'r ballhandling player
+ solid jump shot (improved a lot in the last year)

The bad stuff:
- real skinny (will get push arround by strong guards)
- some times careless with the ball (potential turnover prone)
- no mid-range game (either attacking or really long jumpshots/three pointers)
- age (needs playingtime to become an actual solid NBA player)

If you hope Schröder will come in and be an immediate factor you're wrong. I hope the Hawks organisation gives him time to adapt to NBA and developes him. With some hard work he can become a really really good point guard on the next level, but he needs to improve a few things first.

Just my two cents from overseas, hope i could give you some new informations.

This write-up prove to be extremely accurate on Schroeder. More so than any other scouting report I read on the kid last summer.

Kudos.
