Post#1 » by TTorelli » Wed Jul 3, 2013 3:25 pm

With Kevin Martin signging with the T'Wolves, the Thunder are now in need of a 6th man scoring option

Knicks Sign & Trade: JR Smith

Thunder Trade: Reggie Jackson & Thabo

Thoughts?

It looks like the sixth man option is most likely Lamb's. Thabo is as far as I can tell not going anywhere, he's the main perimeter defender for the team, especially the starting unit, and is on a reasonable deal. As well, Jackson is the only solid option right now as WB's backup, and showed that he can carry a reasonable load in the playoffs. I really don't think they'd give up 2 guys like that for JR, especially after the playoffs he had, plus his off court issues in the past, and I also think he's gonna command too much money, so it would be a pretty easy no for me.

The Thunder do not take players like JR Smith. Never have Never Will. The Price Tag is WAY too High. If and When the Thunder trade Jackson, Perk will probably have some involvement.

I not think this trade benefits OKC

But Nate Robinson is very similar to JR Smith and OKC had him

I agree with this only in the sense that both of them want to shoot at any time in any situation. I think the "players like him" that he's speaking of is his attitude. Nate was pretty good about staying engaged in the game and helping the team when called upon. JR would sour in the wrong situation and create an issue.

I dont think we need a 6th man. Jackson and Lamb should get like 10ppg each? Just need a veteran 3rd PG who can shoot the 3 ball.

Absolutely NO. For the thunder, either Reggie or Thabo is much better than JR Smith.
