Dwight is the one asking for a 3rd max player according to SI. So we might not get him if we don't comply.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

Yeah, common sense but there's really no reason to move Asik and/or Lin unless there's a significant improvement in the roster. And Howard can be acquired without giving up either or both players.

Milsap ain't coming to Houston. He is infected with the worst STD of all. Utah taint.

Howard should accept 60 mil for 4 years if he wants another top agent. I'll offer Gary Neal 30 mil for 3 years playing backup at the SG spot, assuming Spurs can't match that salary, and Neal wanting better paycheck. The PF position is pretty weak as well, adding Hickson for 24 mil for 3 years sounds quite right .

Ballboys please note, the only team with a policy of paying 10mm per year for a backup is New York.

i dont think the rockets are in a rush to move asik or lin unless a deal knocks their socks off...morey said he won't trade them unless he gets at least equal value...and howard never said anything making any immediate trade for another star...if howard signs, i expect asik and lin to still be on the team till opening day or the season unless the rockets get a trade offer they can't turn down...those two guys will never be dumped to just to be dumped.

I like what morey said here:

“Both with Omer and Jeremy, we feel like they’re good fits for Dwight. Omer with Dwight would give us the best (centers) in the league in combination. Jeremy is an attacking guard, great in pick-and-roll, a great fit for Dwight. Dwight works great with shooting and attacking guards. Harden is great at both. That’s why he’s an All Star.”

Morey remained in Los Angeles after the Rockets’ dinner with Howard, speaking with other free agents, including a late Monday meeting with Hawks free-agent forward Josh Smith. Smith could be an option with or without Howard joining the Rockets, a person with knowledge of the Rockets’ thinking said Monday, but he is considered a long shot for them.

I believe Dwight would like Asik to be around. Asik will allow Dwight to have rest days and play less minutes. If last season is any indication, Rockets need either Asik or Dwight to be on the court for 48 minutes to protect the paint area. With Asik, Dwight will not be forced to play 40+ minutes and possibly lengthen Dwight's career in the long run.
