I think if Jigga came with the lyricism proper then this album would be easily AOTY

unfortunately he's just kind of mediocre

Blame Rick Rubin for Jay's rock influence.

Be ready for more rock reference when you get to that song "Heaven".
Only Jay-Z could mesh in REM's "losing my religion" into hip hop lol

It's been a long time since Jay's "Cough up a lung, where I'm from, Marcy son, Ain't nothing nice" days.

He's in a whole new stage of his career. Progression takes over.

Yeah but he can't rap about the **** he did during the mid 2000's, maybe if he did another concept album like American Gangster.

But ****, that 1st track's beat is crazy *phew*

Heard Rubin didn't have anything to do with the album.

0/7 on potential bangers. 9 more to go, then its back to three minutes after the big bang aka summer knights.

Well I did say rock influence bro.
Not a producer. :D

Well he isn't listed as an official producer because he's just a humble guy and wanted Timbo, Swizzy, Pharrel and Yeezy and so on to get all the credit.
But you know damn well he had a voice in the room when it came down to it.
