I hope the change of scenery might help him develop into a grown man, but talking about bargnani is pretty useless imho, he's never accomplished anything, it's like having a dinner where you were expecting the best eatable and you left hungy and thirsty.

While it’s in my DNA to try and convince you that you were raped in this trade, truthfully I believe this trade works for you.
1st off, burried in this 300 page thread is a post from a Raptors fan, named Loslobos that gives an honest and very accurate breakdown of his game. Contrary to what many RealGM Raps posters are telling you, Andrea is a good player. He isn't a #1 draft pick worthy type player, but that was never his fault. Had we drafted him 7th or 8th in what was a very weak draft, most would be very pleased with the end result.
Much of the hate towards him had as much to do with where he was drafted, the organization trying to pimp him as a replacement for Bosh, and Colengelo's apparent coddling of him from the moment he drafted him, as it does for his lack of rebounding and crappy team defense.
Don't get me wrong, he is a crappy rebounder, and his help D is atrocious. It doesn't help when your team chooses not to deal with those issues properly, instead forcing him into areas that he was never capable of filling. I have watched pretty much 95% of the games Andrea has played since entering the league. I can say that on many nights he was our best player. What drove me nuts with our fan base is that Andrea could never win with them. He could put together 4 good games, then have a stinker and that is all everyone would talk about. He could put up 30 points in a win, and posters would point out he only grabbed 4 boards in the process. Even after 7 years knowing wholeheartedly what Andrea was and what he wasn’t, posters would only speak of his weaknesses, and completly ignore any of his positives. If Steve Nash was on our team, would we be grilling him over his piss poor D, or praising him for his amazing court vision. No one at this point in time would be holding out on Steve becoming a better defender, that's been decided. With Andrea, he will never be a 10 board per night guy. He can get you 5, but thats about it. So you can keep staring that stat in the eye, or you can accept it, and try to hide it on the court.
When he is on, playing with confidence and engaged he is a very talented player that can score with ease. That is part of the reason many have gotten frustrated with Andrea. When you see him put up a 30+ point night, and how effortlessly he can do it, you question why he doesn’t do it every night. When he gets in the paint, back to the basket, and he draws fouls, you will get frustrated when he stays on the perimeter for the next 5 possessions.
Maybe being around some solid veteran stars like TC and Carmello will be the type of guidance needed to ensure he shows up on a regular bases. In Toronto, we lacked that. Bosh was never a vocal leader, and other than that we have never had a player that got in Andrea’s ear and demanded more from him. Many nights when he was unengaged, lethargic and energy less, he received heavy minutes and allowed to stay of the court. That set a very bad example, and I am sure the are some bad habits that will need to be broken because of it.
It was time for him to be moved, for both parties best interest. While I like our trade very much, I am hoping that Andrea does well with his new team. He had some very memorable games with us, and when he was engaged he was as entertaining a talent you will find. There are going to be nights were you will think you got a steal of a trade, he will be your best player on many nights. Then there will be nights were you will see the exact negative crap that many have already pointed out. You do have a great center that could allow you to hide his weaknesses, and exploit his strengths, that really could be the X factor in this trade.
His true value for you will probably be found during the playoffs. I said last season that Chicago would have had a chance against Miami if they had Andrea in their lineup. When your offense goes cold in playoffs, he can be instant offense against any team. He can get his shot off anytime, he can post up smaller players, draw bigger players out to the perimeter. He is a solid FT shooter, and if you are going straight man to man D, he can guard some of the better bigger 4’s and 5’s.
Anyways, I will be watching his progress this season, and while I will be adamantly cheering against your team, I am rooting for Andrea. I want to see him in the playoffs because I have always stated his true value will be found there.
