S&T Idea with ATL

Post#1 » by Piston Pete » Thu Jul 4, 2013 9:29 pm

Assuming Dwight does not choose to go there (seems like a safe assumption), they will look to tank. and tank hard.

WE GET: A re-signed JSmoove and Teague

THEY GET: Knight, Stuckey (EXPIRING), and CV (EXPIRING).

Teague / ???
KCP / ??? / English
JSmoove / Middleton / Singler
Monroe / JSmoove / Mitchell / Jerebko
Drummond / Monroe / Kravtsov

We then use the rest of our cap space to sign a legit backup PG and backup SG.

Why not just sign him instead of trade for him?

Because it kills current cap space. Pete didn't use that cap space for anyone but could be useful if Pistons need it.

If you think Smith is a 3 you'll be very disappointed.

This is always plagued Atlanta, Smith & Horford are both 4 men.

How about we just sign Teague to an offer sheet and be done with Josh Smith already?

We already had a chance to replace Knight with a better PG and chose not to do so. I don't expect Joe D to make any offers to any PGs, outside of resigning Calderon maybe.

Absolutely right, I don't get why people do not understand this. Josh Smith is a 4! Not a 3! He is a 4!

I've been wanting Teague all year man, would love to get him. **** josh smith though. I'd rather develop mitchell and go for another lottery pick

We were on JSmoove's doorstep as soon as free agency started, at 12:01. Not that I agree, but I think we veiw him as a 3/4 hybrid.

Teague is restricted.

So we essentially do the NO just did - they went after the King's restricted guy (Tyreke) and then worked out a S&T deal to make it official.

That's basically what this deal is, but with them sending us two guys.

They need to take back salary (expirings are best in this case) to meet the CBA floor for team salaries.
