Warriors looking to shed salary?

Post#1 » by JD43320 » Fri Jul 5, 2013 2:24 am

Allegedly they think believe they have a shot at Howard. This is Dumars chance. Amnesty CV, take on Bogut, Jefferson, their first rounder from this year and a future first. Try to flip those newly acquired assets for Rondo, Gay or someone of note.

Is a first in the 20s really all that valuable that its been stopping us from getting Gay? If we're doing this deal and taking all that money, we're doing it because we're getting Barnes back in the deal.

I'm only helping the GSW if they give us Barnes back in that deal. Remember, we're helping them become contenders next season in that scenario, not us.

Cleveland is really the only team that offer them this much help. But even then, Detroit can amnesty DNP-CV and take back more than anyone else in the league.

They're only offering a first round pick with their bad contracts right now. That's not going to be very valuable since they'd be contenders.

If they attached Barnes, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I strongly consider something like Knight for Barnes, Jefferson, and Biedrins.

If they're not throwing Barnes in then you have to work out the 3-team trade before hand. We don't want to take on their contracts, even Bogut, if there's the possibility we're stuck with them.

GSW can't take back any salary in a salary dump to get far enough under the cap to sign D12.

If we got Barnes, I'd toss'em a bone and give them a distant future first or a couple second rounders, as they would be delivering us our starting SF for the better part of a decade.

Ah. I didn't realize just how fine of a line they were treading.

Ibid. And Golden State is freakin' NUTS if they think they're dumping that much salary by attaching only future picks; they have to include one of Barnes, Thompson or Curry as sweetener (and by far, I assume they'd prefer to include Barnes).

Would be crazy for us not to take Lee + Bogut for Jonas.

One all-star and one former all-star. Then flip Monroe+ Stuckey for Rondo, amnesty CV, and and sign Iggy or Smith.

C:Drummond/Bogut
PF:Lee/Bogut
SF:Iggy or Smith/ Singler
SG:Knight/Kentavious
PG:Rondo/Bynum or Billups?

Gs wants to keep Barnes klay steph to play with Dwight. That's why they want to give picks with the contracts. Would a 1st and a 2nd and Jefferson be worth our time for say cash considerations?

This would be nice to but would gs give up both of them just for the chance at dwight?

Sounds good in theory. Lee is better than Monroe. That gives us a lot of Bona Gide nba stars and next year we got bogut coming off the books.

No. It would be foolish to give up our capspace just for a late first round pick.

Lee was an all star this year and led the nba in double doubles. Monroe is younger and on his rookie deal so I think Monroe is more valuable cause lee has a 3/44 mill contract. I said lee is better cause I watch gs and lee seems to have better numbers than Monroe. But in time Monroe could be the better player.

Yeah I watched a lot of GSW games too but I think Monroe is more versatile and still has only scratched the surface. If you factor in age and contract it becomes a no-brainer imo.

Lee + Bogut for Jonas could work in theory... Partly because the biggest concern of GS seems to be to keep their young guys. Jonas could be a stretch four for them to open things up for Dwight inside with all their other outside shooters.
