Would you re-visit Bynum?

Post#1 » by Soul Chef Fresh » Fri Jul 5, 2013 1:50 am

I don't think Howard walks. But if he does, would you look at Bynum again, especially considering he won't be doing anything basketball related for the foreseeable future?

Or would you prefer working through free agency for both 2014 and 2015.

Side question: If we get no one this season.. What's the possibility that our old ass team would end up in the Lottery, with Kobe not guaranteed to start this season? We don't tank, but we're no better than the current lottery teams with both Kobe and Howard gone.

Are you suggesting Bynum will take a 1 year deal next year to became a FA in 2014? Otherwise we can't sign him this summer unless he willingly comes for the MMLE. He won't though. He'll get a near max offer from a team that struck out in free agency. Now if does become available in 2014 or 2015 and has shown that he can stay on the floor, I wouldn't mind looking at him if we had cap space left, but not at the max.

We have enough headaches lately as it is. Stop looking for new ways for us to achieve migraines.

You think he'd still get max offers from teams when he didn't step on the floor for Philly? Unless the team is desperate, I can't see any GM jumping for Bynum at this point, even if he's the 2nd best Center in the league.

I don't think he'll get max but close to it. He'll get it from the Mavericks I bet-something like 3 years 36-40M, with insurance clauses added.

Why would Bynum come here? This offense would not cater to him.

What's on your mind? Bynum willing to play for $3M per season, or you have anything to offer the 76ers in a sign and trade?

Well, the 76ers are in tank mode for 2014. They may be interested in rebuilding via draft. We could offer the 2016 first, and second round pick with 2018 first along with cash considerations.

Bynum is dirt to Philly at this point, considering they moved toward an ACL-torn Noels as a centerpiece to their team.

You do if you trade Dwight, it creates a trade exception. Even if you just trade him to Houston for future considerations, you get a trade exception you could use for Bynum.

Might as well sign Greg Oden. Much cheaper and at least we know he wont park in a handicap parking or go bowling or river dancing in the offseason!!

What would be the point of going after another big man? D'Antoni doesn't want 2 big guys on the floor. If he's going to be the coach, then you need to focus on adding guys that fit his system.
