Belinelli to the Spurs
2 yrs/6 mil.
Great fit and price, imo. He really improved through the year with the Bulls. Excellent passer. Solid shooter and ball-handling skills. Manu-lite.

Belinelli to the Spurs. Muy interesante. Good spot for him. His Bulls' end sealed when Dunleavy agreed.

Love the move. Great ball handler, solid passer and a decent shooter.
I assume this means Neal is gone.

He was a fan favorite here in Chicago. Lead our team in game winners this year. And a big reason we overachieved with all of the injuries. Take good care of our Marco, I hope he does really well for your team.

Love the addition. He was on my wishlist, second tier but still very happy with the move and the price we got his services for.

Great pickup! Neal will be the odd man out but I think most people knew the odds were he wasn't coming back.

Re: Belinelli to the Spurs
I don't like it... Not because of Marco, but because SG is not a concern.
We already have Danny as the starter. Manu is the backup. After S-Jax got waived, we're forced to play Manu at SF. If anything, we need to bring in a SF/PF type. Not another SG. So I just really don't see the need to bring in a SG.
Marco is a fine player. But him signing for 3 mil a year means we only have about 2 mil left from the MLE to play with. Who can we get for 2 mil that will be a significant addition to the team?
This signing means basically this is our team. Neal will be replaced by Marco. That's the only difference.
Meanwhile, we're still too small to play small ball. We still don't improve our rebounding. We still don't have enough shotblocking.
How much of swapping Neal for Marco is an improvement?

Jason Maxiell in small doses off the bench might be a decent fit. I like his hustle, he can shoot a little bit, rebounds and blocks shots. He's not really a big scorer which is a bit of a turnoff but for the price it would work.
In Detroit Lawrence Frank insisted on starting him and playing a ton of minutes and thats too much for him and his game.

Marco can play pg also. Which the spurs could probably use a lil juice in the backup spot. Even some 3 with the right matchup. He played some good d on wade in the playoffs, which would have been valuable to u in the finals.

Re: Belinelli to the Spurs
belinelli is a close friend of chris paul since his new orleans days. it may be a week ago, marco said in an italian nba tv program that paul wanted the clippers to get belinelli along with him. marco also told a nice story: it was during a timeout, he had missed his first shots but paul approached him calmly and said to him that he passes the ball to him because he knows that he can score everytime.
to become close friend to chris paul and have his complete trust is a dream come true, innit?
