Iggy to GS (maybe), Barnes to Motown?

Post#1 » by theBigLip » Fri Jul 5, 2013 8:06 pm

So Wiretap just put that Iggy is looking seriously at GS. If that is true, that is GREAT news. Iggy is too old for us, so this prevents Dumars from making a mistake on him. It also provides us an opportunity to pick up Barnes and fill our SF with some much more age-appropriate talent. All we would have to do is eat Biedrens or Jefferson's contract I would think. We are not getting better by signing any free agent stars (are there any this year?) so the only way we can significant;y improve is through a trade. Hopefully Joe can pull something like this off.

A little late to the party.

Utah is already taking on Biedrins and Jefferson for some unknown incentive.

Kevin (New York)

Woj just tweeted that Iguodala signed with Golden State and that GS sent Jefferson and Biedrins to Utah in a trade. This takes them out of the Howard sweepstakes right?
Kevin Pelton (4:08 PM)

No, they could still offer Barnes + Bogut (some picks depending how many they gave Utah) in a sign-and-trade.

If what we're hearing was the deal, this wasn't a fail by Dumars at all. Utah just took 2 horrible contracts and backup SG for nothing. It doesn't make any sense for Utah.

Edit: Utah getting multiple picks, including 2014 1st.

I would totally take Barnes & Bogut and a 2014 1st from GS..

Billups/Bynum
Pope/BK
Barnes/Mitchell
Moose/Bogut
Dre/Bogut

We wouldn't be champions but we'd make the playoffs!!! Could still trade JJ, Singler, Middleton for picks!!

They won't need to offer Barnes to unload Bogut if they really decided that was their goal.

Bogut actually has some value as a player. They could probably find someone to take him for nothing.

Stop kidding yourself.

Not sure what Utah are doing. a super late first rounder isn't worth taking on that money. For barnes? I'd do it. Not for late picks/

Awesome. This man uses MLA style forum quoting.

Utah are taking ALL that salary in order to reach the minimum team salary mark.

So they don't have to overpay craptacular free agents, get to play their kids, get future picks in the deal AND get to have cap space next off-season!

FFS Joe!
