Yeah, if losing the pick actually HAD made the difference between getting the RIGHT free agent and not, then of course I'd have done it.

As it stands now it looks like a really stupid move.

Im not upset over Igoudala, I thought he'd return to Denver but now theres no shot at Wilson Chandler.

We never even had a chance with Iggy if we look at what Denver was offering. Iggy wanted to go to a contender and GS delivers. Dang.

What's GS' plan with Barnes?

Not that it matters to us.

It matters because that little glimmer of light that we might hit a home run and get Barnes dropped on our lap has died.

It also means that Denver will certainly want to hold onto Chandler, Gallo, and likely aim to retain Brewer as well.

A lot of dominos fell the wrong way for Detroit with one signing, imho. Many opportunities just closed.

From a purely Iggy perspective- I'm glad he's off the board. I know there was a lot of love for him on this board, but he was never going to play up to the contract he would have received and you all would have eventually turned on him anyways.

Keep him and play him at the 3 next season?

My thinking was they wanted to include him in a S&T with LAL for Howard and have Iggy take over at the 3.

Curry
Thompson
Iguodala
Lee
Howard

That's obviously not happening now though.

I doubt Golden State trades Barnes or Thompson. At the worst (in terms of rotations) they're talented backups when one of them aren't on the floor while being very inexpensive while still on rookie deals. It isn't all about the starting five, especially for a team that wants to be a contender, and having that kind of cheap talent as depth isn't something they're going to want to get rid. Maybe if they package one of them with Lee or Bogut for an upgrade at PF or C (the latter being the most likely) but other than that I don't see the incentive for Golden State to trade Barnes or Thompson.

If they don't get Howard, then I really don't see much sense with this signing for Golden State, especially if they lose Jack and Landry.

They could play him at the 4 in some lineups. Once Lee went down in the Playoffs he played a lot of 4 and did well.

This offseason just went into the crapper.

JSmoove seems like a lock to go to Houston
Iggy is going to GS

Our 1a and 1b "PRIORITIES" are choosing to go elsewhere.
