let the nuggets and knicks both suck this year
I thought they were both going to have down years but NY did some nice things already and now Denver is in pursuit of Ellis...
It is starting to look like they both may be substantially more talented. We will see if that translates to wins.
The biggest concern with the Knicks is that they can suck and still make the playoffs

The Nuggets are probably better than the Knicks and yet it has a better chance of being a lottery pick than the knick's
Yeah the Knicks could try and tank and still make the playoffs. The East really is that bad. I agree that the Nuggets will be the better team but probably have 10-15 less wins. Especially with the way the West is beefing up, when it was already strong.
Look at the wave of free agency so far...
Chris Paul: Staying West
Dwight Howard: Staying West
Josh Smith: Probably moving West
Andre Iguodala: Staying West
Al Jefferson: Moved East to bring a team up to a bubble playoff contender
Monta Ellis: Probably moving West (Denver or Dallas)
David West: Staying East
Nikola Pekovic: Likely staying West (Dallas or Minny)
OJ Mayo: Heading East (Milwaukee)
JR Smith: Staying East
JJ Redick: Heading West
Tiago Splitter: Staying West
Tyreke Evans: Staying West
Kevin Martin: Staying West
Tony Allen: Staying West
Carl Landry: Staying West
If I counted right, that is 16 players. Of those, 11 will be in the Western Conference. The guys who did go East are going to make minimal impacts. The guys that went West are going to make a big impact.
