Anyone expecting Parker/Wiggins is in for a disappointment. That's not how the Pistons roll. We go on 5 game win streaks to end seasons, and while that has worked out for us in the past, generally there is a correlation between higher picks and better players. Expecting someone to drop isn't consistent, and I don't want to tank anyway.

Not going to happen but I agree, we should stand pat and tank.

Det out: Greg Monroe
Char out: rights to Cody Zeller, Pistons pick returned, 1st of 2014 (top-5 protect maybe)

try to trade Jerebko for large expiring.(Biedrins and 1st?) maybe get other large expirings for future picks.

Then we can suck as much as we want and have extra cap space next year.

...Knight, KCP, Singler (role player but still), Zeller, Drummond, picks, LOTS of cap space next year

Charlotte can't trade their pick. They owe that to Chicago. Maybe before draft if we extend Monroe.

There is no way that we are keeping our pick. We should win at least 35 games based solely on the growth and development of our young guys alone. It's really disappointing that we are going to miss out on our first round pick and we haven't got anything with our cap space thus far, hopefully Joe can pull off a trade of some sort. Plus Gores wants to win now and Joe wants to save his job, so I doubt that we will tank. With all of our expirings, is there anyway that we could trade for somebody else's first round pick maybe?

If we want to win now they have a funny way or showing it.

We could have offered Iggy more than GSW

We could still include Knight in the package to Toronto and then overpay for Teague or try to sign Jennings or some such rubbish

CV-DNP, Stuckey, Knight for Gay.... sign Teague or Jennings to some front loaded contract that might make Atlanta or Milwaukee think twice then sign a back-up PG with what is left over:

Drummond/Monroe
Monrore/Jerebko/Mitchell
Gay/Singler
K.C.P/Middleton
Teague or Jennings/Bynum?

They can "sell" this team on the internal development of Drummond, Monroe, Singler, Middleton, Jerebko, the draft choices of K.C.P and Mitchell AND the additions of Gay and Teague/Jennings

That team should be a playoff team....

But we have to do something. At this point I'd prefer we sign role players that either have the potential to break out or guys that simply fill a need for us.

OMG, we do this every damn year! This team is so poorly run. We need to learn how to tank properly like those damn Cavs

Pistons gotta spend around $53m to meet the league minimum this year. These guys together make maybe $34m...so how to we blow another $20m without getting any better? (Possible answers: trade for Kris Humphries. Sign JJ Hickson, one year, $12m.)

Resign Maggette to one year, $10 mil and sign Kaman to one year $10 mil.

That's what happens when you have a GM and coach that is consistently on the hot seat every summer, and an overzealous owner who believes he can snap his fingers and his GM will deliver him a title contender.

Gores is as responsible for those end-season runs as anyone. Guy's like Cleveland's owner, Dan Gilbert, don't give a damn. They'll tank the last two months. It's worked out pretty well for them, despite some questionable selections.

We got a little better this season with drafting KCP and Mitchell....but other teams got better as well.

CLE got Bennett, Earl Clark, and a bunch of other draft picks....

WASH got Porter and kept Webster. Wall, Beal, Porter, Webster, Nene, Seraphin, Okafor....

ORL will be a lot better with a full year of Harris. Nelson, Oladipo, Afflalo, Harkless, Harris, Davis, Nicholson, Vucevic. They have more talent than us IMO.

PHO got Len, Goodwin, Butler, and Bledsoe. They could be better than us too with Bledsoe, Dragic, the Morris twins, Scola, Gortat, Len, Goodwin, Butler, Beasley, and Shannon Brown.

CHAR got better with the additions of Al Jefferson and Zeller -- Kemba, Sessions, Henderson, MKG, Taylor, Bismack, Zeller, McRoberts, Mullens, and AlJeff.

The only teams I think might clearly be worse than us are Philly and ATL.
