Playing him at PG is a great move IMO. Hes athletics, quick, and super aggressive at attacking the basket. Plus, hes only 18 years old.

Having GoodWin play PG for us allows the ball to be in his hands more often, and allows him to be as aggressive as he wants.

I can envision McD trying to mould Goodwin into a 6'5 Tony Parker- a drive and dish specialist, with strong finishing abilities at the rim

A Tyreke/Westbrook/Harden PG.

They need a sharp shooter /off ball combo guard next to him, a JJ Reddick type who can defend.

Goodwin was a SG in high school and he was amazing. Good was a PG in college and he didn't do very good.

You see what I'm saying?

Depends what kind of PG people expect him to be. He could be a PG in a loose form if you must label him a PG. The D-Rose/Westbrook type of super athletic PG who looks to score first but also have good enough passing to drive and dish. I honestly think he's going to be more of a Monta Ellis type combo guard.

Goodwin won't play PG for us, he will get minutes at the 2.

Except every indication so far is they want to play him at PG, competing directly head-to-head with Marshall for playing time.

Its one thing to say the guy is a natural PG in a SG body, its completely another thing with Goodwin who does not have a point guard mindset and trying to mold the guy into one.

Just hope we don't screw the kid up trying to make him a PG if he shows he isn't a very good one.

I don't know why but I just have a feeling Goodwin is going to be better than Len...

I see him as Stuckey/Evans/Rip Hamilton. Rip developed into a really reliable 3pt shooter, so hopefully Hornacek can sort his shot out

He has an interesting playing style. Those long strides he takes as he approaches the hoop allow him to move faster than the little stutter steps many take. Funny, he reminds me a lot of Goran.

I like the Goodwin pick but I would not expect a much from him in year one. I would bet his playing time will be really hit and miss this first year. I doubt he will play much at all until after the trade deadline when all the bad teams (including us) throw in the towel.

No idea...maybe they shy away from calling people shooting guards if they cant shoot.

I really love the pick. The kid is young, athletic and loaded with talent; his biggest shortcomings of course being his age/experience and lack of a decent shot or free throw. As far as im concerned we should lock him in a room with Hornacek for 2 years and then let him out and see if he can shoot.

Marshall however im not as hot on. His lack of athleticism coupled with a bad outside touch makes me want to move him immediately.

They should make him watch for how DeRozan plays for the Raptors and then have him and try and replicate that. Then once he's learned that, have him watch how Wade attacks the rim and gets FTs, and try to replicate that.

We could play him along side Bledsoe for a bit, reminds me of that Dr. Suess book "Cat in the Hat"

DeRozan averages 18, 5 and 2...on 45% FG shooting....if we can get that out of Goodwin, I don't think you or anyone else will be complaining.

And the Suns don't think he's a great player. Both Hornacek and McDonough talked plenty about how he's a project and he needs a few years before he'll be anything at all.

No but your right, lets give him some tape of LeBron and tell him to do exactly that

Stats are like that girl with a big booty, turns around, and she's ugly, man. DeRozan was never an impact on the floor. His defense is comparable to mine.

Who cares, your telling me that you won't be happy if we can get a guy who gives DeRoAn type production with the #29 pick on the draft?

Wow some of you really need to lower you expectations. Great chance that everyone that's expecting him to be the next Westbrook or whatever is gonna be reaaally disappointed.

If he becomes as good as Westbrook we should be surprised and excited about that, not expecting that.

While on the subject, I will never understand the fascination with women who has oversized asses. They're just fat IMO. Not sexy.

Give me an athletic and slim girl over a girl with too much junk in her trunk any day of the week.
