Detroit saying BK is our starting PG. Ugh
Brandon Knight is expected to be the Pistons' starting point guard this season.
Now that Jose Calderon has signed with the Mavs, the Pistons' are moving forward with Knight running the show. It's not ideal. Knight started at point guard before the All-Star break last year, averaging 13.5 points, 4.3 assists and 3.4 rebounds while shooting 40.4 from the field. He remains a tweener.

Well, it IS Rotoworld.
But yeah, theres's not a ton of room for optimism here, is there?

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's nothing coming from the team. Just Rotoworld speculating because Calderon got signed by someone else. With that said I wouldn't be surprised to see Knight start at PG and I wouldn't really blame them for not giving up on him yet. Most young players (that are highly drafted) are going to keep getting a shot until their rookie contract runs out.

Joe Dumars continues to call Knight a "combo" so I think that says all you need to know about Knights ability to run a team. If we can upgrade at PG, we will.

I really hope knight improves this season but at the same time I have no problem going and getting an upgrade at pg.

I'd rather have Knight penciled in as the starting PG than the starting SG! I don't have a problem with this at all. Now I just want to know who our starting SF is

It's better than him starting at SG which is a joke to even be a suggestion.
Let the young guns play and we could've done a lot worse like starting a misfit Calderon or the ever lolworthy like Bynum who's only saving grace is throwing lobs to Drummond. That's it.

I have no issue with BK as our starting PG, that's why I didn't want Burke in the draft. But if his upside is that of Jason Terry with better defense, that we can bring off the bench, I still see that as a valuable player.

I would love to have the offense simplified for him, similar to Houston's last season.
Fast pace, lots of P&R, giving less time for the defense to set up. If not, just dump the ball down low.
Cheeks prefers a slow pace against a set up defense in the half-court. I'd say it would be fine if Detroit had a true floor general, but they don't.
I don't see the Pistons incorporating anything different than what Frank used. Lots of horns action that would just break down into horrid isolations and post ups.
I'm fine with him playing point, he has the physical tools to be an elite playmaker. He just thinks too much about everything. Almost like Jeremy Lin. I think the game will come to him eventually, maybe on another team though.

Look, I don't want to knock BK, but he's got major major work to do to be at peak Jason Terry's level. Jet put up like 20/7 on good percentages a few years into the league. You said it right, BK's upside is Terry but this post implies that he'll be really good whether we start him or not.
If he was at 2nd year Terry's level, the board would treat him like Kobe.

So we are the favorites to land the #1 pick.

Favorites??....no
Likely to stay in the top-8 and keep our pick?? As we sit currently, I would say yes.

He and Stuckey combine to almost be a PG. Kind of. If we throw them both out there at PG we'd be set.
Plus it's 6 on 5, which is pretty cool.

Nah. But an injury to one of Drummond or Monroe and we certainly would be.
