There's a minimum capspace. We don't need capspace now; we need it in the future. We're in a much better capspace position now.

With the JJ/Bucks trade, To be fair, If Milwaukee is on your line wanting JJ, it was obvious that Tobias Harris and Doron Lamb should have been your targets (Sanders is clearly off the table) to head back to you.

Besides that, Hennigan said that his guys are the one that told him he better bring Tobias into the fold. He didn't specify if it was Perry or Lloyd. I think Hennigan just wanted the 1st.

Afflalo and Harrington to this day will NEVER make sense to me. Asset wise and salary cap wise. Still a headscratcher, especially if he had no intentions of using the bulk of that TPE.

There is still time, so I wont rush to jugdement on that.

People need to stop this, it played no part in the Denver inclusion part of the trade. We have Gilbert on the payroll, minimum is not coming into play.

How so?

If you want to be technical, we're in worst shape salary cap wise since taking on Afflalo/Harrington.

Also the CBA got us out of cap hell, allowing us to amnesty Arenas. I still don't get taking Harrington (I said it was horrible from the get go). I wasn't high on Afflalo either and it's going to look worse if he can't get anything worthwhile for him.

+1. Are we really bashing this front office right now?! Wow....just wow. Lets take away any positives they have done, their are still zero reasons to have a negative perception of the front office. Especially ones so short sighted because of the ASSUMPTION all those deals were available to us, ownership was on board with, and were in the best interest of the rebuilding plan.

Iggy was better for salary purposes, He was better for trade value, He was better for name recognition (as far as your Magic fanbase goes etc)

I don't think Iggy is a good enough player to have made us win much or any more games then we did either, so I doubt that played a factor either.

Do you guys really think Rob had a choice in taking Harrington? It should be obvious that he had to in order to get the deal done and he is about to be cut anyways.

I just saw that Orlando has $22 mill guaranteed in salaries next year and $39 mill if the options for Jameer, Nik, Moe, Tobias, KOQ, Lamb, & Nicholson are picked up. Keeping in mind I have not added in the salaries for Osby and Oladipo. I think that we are in great shape for free agency the next few years and think we are in a spot to make a huge run at some big names.

Having looked at the names that are free agents in 2014 & 2015, I think Hennigan has set us up in a decent position for facilitating trades and rebuilding.

Its not "bashing". The guy just basically is saying that the board overhypes or makes more out of the moves that have been made then what it is. It's just discussion.

I swear, some of these posters have lost their minds. Henry has been a revelation as a GM. One year after being laughed at after the Dwight trade he looks like genius. He's won every trade, drafted well and put us in a position to acquire talent in free agency over the next two seasons, and yet people have their panties in a bunch over speculated trades that may not have even been available to us?

Are you serious? Denver only was in the deal because WE WANTED THEM TO BE. Did Denver send anybody besides US anything? Did they GET anything from anybody besides US? No.

That obviously shows you that the only reason they were in it was because we wanted Afflalo, Harrington and the protected pick OVER Iggy.

We wanted Afflalo. Do you really believe we wanted Harrington? I would take Afflalo and a protected pick over Iggy any day of the week considering Iggy would have made us better.

And am saying that's beyond asinine for many reasons, and if he can't see that I don't know what else to say...

YES, You should have taken Iggy. He was an expiring. We could have EASILY traded him to a contender for picks and an expiring at the deadline OR he would have been expired, off the books and playing elsewhere (we may have even been able to sign and trade him if the team he wanted was over cap).

Instead of that, we are all standing here holding our crotch, praying that we can get rid of Afflalo and Harringtons salary that is on the books for three and two more years.

Iggy isn't/wasn't good enough to make us win, he was a much more valuable asset.

Do you people forget we also had JRich on this team who is worse than AA with a worse contract and has absolute zero trade value compared to AA who is at least worth a late 1st?

I dont know what is going on here this morning, it is a revelation that we have a GM with a plan and he is not deviating from it just to get a bigger name player who in IGGY would not have stayed for a rebuild and just walked away from Denver so there was no guarantee of even being able to trade him. At least AA has some value to a contender in the form of a future pick. I will admit Harrington sucks but he may be moved at the deadline for a team looking to save some tax money.
