This was the best move, glad the Clippers FO saw it through. I think our next move should be looking to sign a backup to DJ rather than a backup to Griffin. I'd look at Pachulia, Birdman, Jermaine O'neal, and maybe Kaman and Dalembert.

I think Pachulia, Birdman, and O'neal will all bring a toughness that's lacking in that position. Let's see if we can't sign one of those guys to a Vet's Min. If not, use the rest of the MLE. If so, then use the rest of the MLE to bring in a backup PF or PG. Lastly, trade that TPE or Willie for whatever position is left that we haven't covered.

I don't like the signing if it was at the expense of Landry. That said I am really glad to have Barnes back and even happier for him. I really like him as a person. I think he has a bad wrap and I'm glad he finally got a decent payday. I hope he doesn't blow his money like so many others.

The biggest reason I am happy we resigned him is you could tell he wanted to be here. As a FA he was tweeting about our teams moves this offseason. After 25 years of being a Clippers fan it's nice to see impact players wanting to come back here, not planning their escape route the day they arrive!

In order to get Landry, he would have to take a serious pay cut and just really want to be here in hopes of a chance to win. Golden State had to renounce his rights in order to go after Iggy, so a S&T isn't really an option for us. I really wouldn't get my hopes up for him at this point.

I'm happy for Matt as well. Even when I didn't like him, I wanted to see him get paid and receive a long-term commitment from a team. He's been in the league far too long to have only made what he has so far.

Brandon Davies will be an absolute steal if we can keep him. If I'm Sacks, I offer this kid a 4 year contract with the last two years being team options (similar to a first round pick) but starting at the minimum.

I've been thinking, wouldn't have been better to sign Barnes to the mini MLE of 3 years 10 million? I doubt he would have been offended for that extra million he got, and that way we wouldn't be hard capped and would have the flexibility to get over the tax if needed. I know DTS probably has no interest in getting too much over the cap but he didn't have to if he didn't want, and who knows what situations can arise this season. Maybe someone like Hibbert or Gasol becomes disgruntled and wants to force a trade here, or something crazy like that. Not that it's likely but it would have been nice to reserve the possibility.

Plus, the $1.65 million we have left of the MLE is not really that different from the $1.4 million of the veteran minimum, it's not like we're gonna miss a great player for those $200k.

I would've much rather the clips sign Landry and push Bullock out early but Barnes will have to do for now

Two bigs really also curious why Clips didn't make the Davies deal longer for so cheap but Vet min ahead. Hopefully they find something for TPE any big would do it would help to use it.;

Yea I never really thought the team gave up on Landry for Barnes. Now that we see what Landry got we know why. Seeing that Barnes gave up money to bring in Collison I'm glad he is the Clipper regardless. Barnes/Collison > Landry IMO.
