Who are the available "Dead-Eye Perimeter shooters"?

Sam Amico ‏@SamAmicoFSO 37m

As for Pistons, word around league is they aren't done. GM Joe Dumars continues hunt for dead-eye perimeter shooter.

We have roughly $7M left under the cap to spend in free agency, and then have some trade assets available as well? Who could Mr. Amico be referencing here? Billups in his heyday would have of course fit, but probably can't do it anymore.

Eric Gordon if they decide to part with him.

Stuckey/1st rounder for EG?

Then amnesty CV and sign Billups.

Knight/Billups
Gordan/KCP/Englsih
Smith/Middleton/Jerebko
Monroe/Smith/Mitchell
Drummond/Monroe/Kravstov

That's a really good team imo.

I think Delfino, Ellington and Young are about all that's left, and Youngs a little shaky.

^I don't think EG is available and probably too rich for the Pistons blood in this hunt if he was. I think they're looking at the Spurs no-namers who took over games type. Spurs decided to not bring Gary Neal back - he had some big games from three point land...

No way to EG. My guess is that they'll target a backup PG who can shoot 3s first. Jarrett Jack is probably the best free agent available who can shoot 3s. Maybe Gary Neal, but I see him as more of a SG than PG. Maybe Carlos Delfino (has he signed?), or work out a trade for Danny Green?

I didn't even think about him. He'd be a great pickup if we're looking specifically for 3pt shooters. That kid can flat out shoot the ball. I'd be very happy if we signed him.

Oh my god. If we did that it (EG) would make all of this so much worse.

What would it take to get Steve Novak from the Knicks?

Please no, he's on an awful contract and has really dropped from the face of the Earth in his shooting.

Plus he can only shoot 3's and can't defend at all. Extremely one dimensional.

Besides, we have more than enough bodies in the front court. We need guards.

Reggie Williams, maybe?

He was horrible in Charlotte, but we can't hold that too much against him. He was pretty solid with GSW, and showed nice range with his shot.

Dumars allegedly had interest in Reggie a couple summers ago, maybe Dumars kekindles that interest. He could likelty be had for pretty cheap as well.
