The thing with Nate an DRose is that it's hard to stay in front of either one of those guys. No one can stop DRose and Nate proved in the playoffs it's hard to stop him too. LeBron had to guard the guy. That's respect.

An on the defensive end, since they are both unbelievable athletes, you have rose take a sg (he can guard most of them), an Nate take the pg. I think it would work fine.

One thing that I can see being a negative is Nate taking bad shots instead of getting it to DRose. People will be all over him for that.

How's it any different have 6'3 Kirk & Nate on the floor together last year... closing every game.

Good point, XP.

I would love to see some numbers on how that combination fared together. I'm not too good at finding the different types of advanced stats that some of you are.

Kirk and Nate played 257 minutes together during the regular season and had a +/- of +14.8 per 100 possessions. That's both of their highest 2 man +/-, by far.

In the playoffs, they only played 46 minutes together (since Kirk went down after game 4) and they were +35.6 per 100 possessions. Hard to take much from that since it's such a small sample size though.

Not very big sample sizes but very good numbers.

If Nate stay he can still be on the rotation but that means that rookie like Snell will be out of the rotation will be something like this:

Rose/Nate
Butler/Kirk(He'll play point in offense & defend the 2 when needed.)
Deng/Dunleavy
Boozer/Gibson
and probably Noah/Nazr

Then got on the bench with Snell, Teague, Murphy, and Thomas(If he is still on the roster.) that will be our rotation may see some short stretches see Rose and Nate play together if necessary(especially in terms needed offensive firepower if needed.)

Marquis Teague ‏@marquisteague25 3h
How my big homie @nate_robinson been

Kinda cool to see teammates interact with each other. He's vacationing with Boozer and I know Butler sent him a few messages too. Seems like a close knit group.

Marquis hoping that he can red-shirt one more year(it's probably good for him) if Nate is back

The "unlikely" in the thread titles is starting to really dwindle. Cavs just signed Jarret Jack for 6 million. If Nate would have gotten a similar contract to Jack and JR Smith, he should have gotten it by now. Crazy how this man still ain't getting paid after a good year, arguable better than both of the previous players.

not sure if this has been posted...

Rumor Press ‏@NBARumorPress
As earlier reports stated, Bulls do have an offer to Nate Robinson on the table. Told he's still searching the market for a better deal.

Rumor Press ‏@NBARumorPress
Nate is said to be intrigued by the chance to play with Derrick Rose next season. Most Bulls can offer is a 120% raise w/ Non-Bird rights.

Rumor Press ‏@NBARumorPress
Bulls continue to talk to other FA guards, so Nate isn't their only option. The team is high on him, but $$$ stands between the sides.

Just come back nate. And maybe because he shows loyalty JR can take care of him next summer?

I would guess the a team that is tanking wouldn't sign him because he might actually win them a few games.

If Nate fell into our laps again I like our chances against anyone in a playoff series.

Starting Rose/Butler and coming with Hinrich/Nate off the bench would be insanely good.

Rose/Butler/Nate provide the type of dynamic athleticism we've been pining for, while Hinrich provides the steady ball-handling and defense to complement each of them. Sprinkle in some Tony Snell at 6'7 with long arms and our back court is set.

We wouldn't have those extended scoring droughts when Rose goes to the bench because Nate will light it up against other teams second units, we would probably even build our leads or cut into deficits against other benches, allowing more rest for the starters which is what we've always wanted in the first place.
We are missing a lot of layups right now as a team, and that is on me... It’s my job to make sure we’re ready to make our layups." - Thibodeau.

Wow, unreal how Nate hasn't been signed yet by another team for more than the minimum.

And call me crazy, but if Teague shows something next week and in the preseason...I might be tempted to say roll with Teague/Nate for the bench backcourt and let Hinrich be a third string player-coach. At this point, I don't see any reason to utilize him as a point guard, especially since Nate/Hinrich was actually pretty good in spurts last year.

That is of course, including how awesome a Rose/Nate/Butler trio could be athletically. Just don't let Nate run the fast break, since he's liable to throw the ball into the stands or to the other team.
"And if Rose comes back and is 80% of himself, the Bulls become a pain in the ass" -Zach Lowe

Still rooting for wins, but losses aren't the worst thing in the world. Perhaps the optimal strategy is hoping the Blackhawks are on at the same time.

Kind of, but not totally surprising. He played a lot of hero ball. But when he's not hitting half his threes he's pretty brutal to have on the floor. He runs the offense terribly and he's a horrible defender.

I wouldn't mind him back, since I think we'd have a nicely defined role here.

If he gets a good contract I'm happy for him but if he doesn't I would love to have him back because I just love his heart and grit.

So if it doesn't work out NAte, please come on back...I know it sucks to not get paid but you know Chi-town would love to have you back.

If Nate comes back, I'm dead ass serious, we're winning that chip.

Barring, Rose being half the player he used to be. Less than MVP to MVP caliber Rose with Nate coming off the bench = ring.

If Kirk and Nate can work for stretches, than Rose and Nate will be deadly. Deal with it Debbie downer..
