THIS.. Smith is NOT a sharp shooter. This is stupid for Detroit because it solidifies them NOT having a top 10 pick in the lottery. Their pick is top ten protected. So it looks like they have to trade away their 1st rounder in the best draft in a long time.

It's actually Top 8 protected...right where they were last season. They are definitely conveying that pick to Charlotte now.

Wow...so they trade Bledsoe to fill holes and then go out and sign a player that is currently more suited to help them win a title.

Doc Rivers has himself a squad.

Never said Smith was a sharpshooter or that Dumars said he was. Dumars said after the trade for Josh Smith, that next he wanted to lock up a sharpshooter to finish up free agency.

Couple quotes came out about him improving a lot in the offseason and that he will be the surprise player for us this year.

It was from what he did in college for me. If we thought McLemore was an elite shooter in college.....Lambo was right there..

He is better then he showed last year in those limited minutes.

College. Lamb leads Kentucky over Kansas I remember reading. 22 points in the title game. John Hammond passed on him, signs he's probably good. Also showed me early on here in Orlando that he's got handle and probably better as a PG/SG type. You can see it in him that he's a natural play maker, likes to have the ball in his hands, and can run an offense.

I would put money on the Pistons making the playoffs next year. I think they're showing everyone they're interested, they'll make another move or two, bring in a sharpshooter, hope that KCP is as good as some think he is, and try to stay healthy.

Still a **** idea to play Smith as a 3 where he hasnt played for like ever just like Dwight used to be a PF. either way u look at the Move it doesnt really make them Playoff worthy cuz they got a SKID Mark none-passing Scoring Guard for a PG.
I mean is Monroe-Drummond really that bad compared to Smith-Monroe? i just dont understand why they would sign a PF/C thats starting caliber and Borderline Allstar and great defender at PF to play at SF. either Monroe or Drummond probably will be dealt. i will gladly trade them AA and Jameer and a first(one of the ones that could turn into 2nds) for Knight/Monroe and Villanueva.

the trade gives them a solid PG and Sharpshooter and a potential 1st rounder for a Combo-guard or PF/C and a Backup PF on a big contract that expires.

I like him at SF, there's not a lot of statistics on it, but from what I've gathered, he plays better defense while playing the 3 and shoots a higher percentage from the field as a SF. He can defend the 3 and 4, is not a natural post scorer but can do it against the 3/4, and can still get you 7-8 boards a night from the SF. He can also rotate from the 3-4 depending on matchups.

his stats look better there because he hasnt played much there. u dont want Josh Smith taking Jump shots which he misses at like 60% of the time. most SFs drive and have a good jump shot and does Much Better Inside than outside which to me says hes a better PF than SF.

you can look back to like 2006-2007 season(the last season he played SF the majority of the time he still played better as a PF.

im willing to say he can Play Some SF in spurts but to play him there full time would be a Mistake.

I know he can't shoot. I guess I'm describing him as playing whatever Lebron plays. Where he's not guarded often by the opposing 4, usually the 3. I see Lebron is listed as a PF, but I consider him a SF, as I do Smith.

Bill Simmons ‏@BillSimmons 28s

15 million for Zaza Pachulia. Did the "Most Depressed Fan Base" championship belt arrive in Milwaukee yet? Sacramento sent it 2-day UPS.
