Jason Maxiell

Post#1 » by ElectricMayhem » Sun Jul 7, 2013 2:18 am

The big question looming over this offseason remains. What will happen to Jason Maxiell?

The Josh Smith signing makes it even less likely Max will be resigned. We loved him as an energy guy off the bench while we were great, hated him as a big minutes guy when we were lousy.

It will be strange seeing him in another uniform. Where will he go? How will he do? Just like he did for us, can his career be rejuvenated by going playing small minutes on a contender? Will he take better money on a lottery team?

I could see him doing damage on the Heat or Thunder. Lots of people here seem to hate him now, but I wish him the best.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

He's a decent hand as a bench big man, but we played him too many minutes last season and he faded as a result. As a depth energy big man, there is a spot for him in the league still.

As a energy off the bench guy, he's actually decent.

Definitely not as a starter.

i honestly think in 2 years time we'll see him out of the league, he's a perfect energy guy, but he's also easily replaceable with a younger and cheaper version. If he consistently can hit that jump shot, he'll have a role in this league

Bynums energy with Dre was outstanding. Max deserved walking papers years ago.

I don't see a need for him. Moose and Smith will likely see the lions share of minutes at PF. Then there's Mitchell and Jerebko there as well. I don't see where we squeeze him in for minutes anywhere.

We need a 3rd string center... If we can't get kaman or someone better and Max is willing to take $2 mil or less than why not?

We need another big... What if Drummond or Moose get injured? We don't need Max to be in the regular rotation but if someone goes out for a few weeks Jonas, Mitchell, and Smith aren't big enough to guard centers.

I would def look at other options but Maxiell but be the best option we have that is dirt cheap who can do decent defending C's.

Don't we still have Slava? It'd be great if we can pick up someone better, but he's a C.
