Starting PF
Who's gonna be our starting PF? With Pau sliding to 5, should we start Metta at 4? Our rebounding will suck if that's the plan. Can Hill play 4?

Re: Starting PF
Hill was very effective playing next to Pau (when they were both healthy).

Re: Starting PF
Jordan hill is the best defensive big on our team now, I think he can look pretty good next to Pau. Plus some spot minutes for Ryan Kelly to spread the floor for Pau to post

Hopefully LO will come back and be our 6th man, MWP will play some PF but I'm pretty sure Hill will start.

Elton Brand is still out there, and Brandon Wright

I can only imagine Dantoni being in love with the idea of having LO

Re: Starting PF
Speights, Wright, Trey Thompkins, Lou Amundson, JTyler still unsigned, I believe.
I'd love to see Lou here, and Tyler on a one-year deal might show something. Austin Daye unrestricted - he'd be nice on a D'Antoni team
and what about Sam Young at the 3? A solid wing defender, athletic

Re: Starting PF
Hill and Pau should be the starting big men, without question. Hill plays defense and rebounds.
Hill's numbers last year (7 and 6) in 15 minutes is very solid. He'll likely play around 28-30 minutes next season, and add in the fact that he's in his contract season, I wouldn't be surprised if he put up 13 and 11.

I liked what I've seen of Austin Daye's shot when he was with the Pistons. Would welcome this. You'd think a young player who's never really had a real chance would be excited about a cheap one year rental with us given the exposure they'd get.
Just look at Earl Clark--a month or two of exceptional play gets you a nice contract. Could have been as easily bounced out of the league.

You got to remember that Hill isn't exactly on Dantoni's favorite list...

MD doesn't have a choice.
Hill deserves to start. he doesn't fit well with Sacre. Sacre however will benefit by playing with LO who can create for him. MWP seems the odd man out since Kelly will definitely be getting minutes because of his shooting.

Re: Starting PF
If Lamar comes he starts, we need the glass work, ball handling, and pushing it off rebounds for easy ones. Not to mention you need Odoms pnr coverage at the 4.
Hill could backup Odom and still get 20 minutes which is realistically his ceiling as he plays so hard and reckless. Kelly or Sacre can backup Pau depending on who they play ala Powell and Mbenga.
Metta if not amnestied may very still be the 3, and not only that he may be packaged with expiring in Hill, Meeks, and Blake for a Granger or Gay or something available depending on where we are around the break

There's no point suggesting free agents, we're obviously not signing any
Kelly will end up starting and Hill will be the backup until he gets injured

Yes to this. He would fit D'Antoni's system well. Reminds me of Channing Frye. Does he play defense though? Prob not, but at least he's young. Can we get him for the min and then use our MMLE on a SF? Not sure how it works, can you offer the minimum to anyone or just veterans?
