We're not done yet!!

Post#1 » by retrolenny » Sun Jul 7, 2013 12:46 pm

With the current roster I expect us to sneak into the playoffs. Call it the 7th or 8th seed. I still expect more changes to come.

1) Rodney Stuckey & CV
2) One or two of Singler, JJ, Middleton

I have a hard time believing we will not secure a solid PG (Billups, Teague)
We are most likely resigning Bynum
50/50 chance we might move Moose. (Would anyone consider a package of Moose, Stuck, and Singler for Gay and a top 8 protected 2014 pick?)

I'd be quite happy with this lineup:

BK/Bynum
Billups/KCP
Gay/Middleton
Smith/JJ or CV
Dre/Slava

Billups is not a solid PG, he's not even good enough to be a backup.

Billups is good enough to give us 20 min/game. He also provides us with what cannot be taught... LEADERSHIP!! He brings intangibles that this team hasn't seen since his departure. Furthermore, reuniting Billups with Kander could be just the medicine he needs to let him go out the way he should have.

how does no one understand how valuable a dominant big man combo like monroe and drummond is? teams win championships with a strength like that. Especially when the better scorer is the PF with all these small ball teams, we will beat teams up in there and turn the league back away from this small ball junk. We cant be breaking that up before its begun just to have josh smith play PF with drummond, creating one of the weakest half court inside offenses.

I'm all for making more moves, but not if it involved trading Monroe or re-signing Bynum.

The floor will be so poorly spaced with Smith alongside Monroe and Drummond. Sure, rotations can solve this, but the team instantly becomes a defensive liability.

I don't want to see Monroe traded, but if he can be turned into solid swingmen, I don't think anyone would complain.

I just can't see any chemistry between Smith & Moose & Dre.

Smith 14min
Moose 24/Smith 24
Dre 35/Moose 13

No other way this could really work.. Can't have them all on the floor together for any real length of time.

I most definitely would.
