Stretch 4

Post#1 » by WhiteShaggy » Sun Jul 7, 2013 2:43 pm

With the talk of wanting Ryan Anderson next to Dwight, is there any possibility we look in house at Jones or Donuts? We aren't expecting much more than spacing with Dwight in the middle.

Barring any big name pickup at the 4, who would play the 4?

if you watch the summer league JONEs has a decent 3 ball.

Pretty surprising and i believe he has the best defense out of all the 4's currently.

He might start at 4 if he can get more experience.

I hope he starts because asik can't stretch he floor right now.

We probably will have a different starting 5 depending on who we play.
Vs the grizz
Lin
Beard
Parsons
Asik
Howard

Vs small ball team
Lin
Beard
Parsons
Jones
Howard

Against a small team, I'd be in favor of starting Garcia, and having either him, or Parsons at the 4. If we can get a stretch 4 for Asik though, we should jump on it.

Dmo and Tjones aren't really reliable 3 point shooters.

They're not natural shooters and dont have that gunslinger mindset. I call it the Jeremy Lin syndrome.

Cant have someone who is scared to shoot after a miss shot or 2. Shooters gotta shoot.

I'm not a Lin fan and I'm not against him but I think he will play better because he doesn't have the pressure he used to have to be "that guy" now that we have Dwight

Speaking of Lin think about how terrible our team would be if OKC had paid harden :(

I think Casspi sees heavy minutes at the 4 next season.

Celtics fan here...

Asik is a terrible fit with Howard, he HAS to be trade before the deadline.

Trade Asik for Iyasova as the 3 pt hitting PF and LMAM as the defensive combo forward who can make Durant and LeBorn work for 25 minutes.

I've long wanted to see both this guys go to a real team and I think they are perfect fits for Houston.

If you want to make a deep run in 2014 I think you need more depth at forward.

I'd be down with getting either of them.

Still curious about TJones this year, too.

I still don't see Motie ever doing anything.
Morey 2020.

Q:How are they experts when they're always wrong?
A:Ask a stock market analyst or your financial advisor

Ilyasova would be a great fit. Doesn't need the ball in his hands, but still is very (!) involved on offense - probably one of the most mobile PFs in the league. Sets good screens, knows how to get open for 3, knows when to rotate under the rim, creates switches/mismatches. Great shooter, plus he's pure hustle. He has trouble defending bigger/stronger PFs, but is known for drawing a lot of charges. On top of all that, he seems like a nice guy every team would like to have.

Edit: the thing is, Milwaukee doesn't need a big like Asik. So it probably would have to be 3team trade.

why people keep saying Asik is a bad fit next to Howard?
they are not going to be on the floor at the same time
why do people have problem with backup center making 8 million?
McGee is backup last year as well

Morey is very patient acquiring players on his list
i believe Love is his target

doesn't mean he can't be traded
though Saunders did say they aren't looking to trade him
unless it's for some great talent
not so sure Asik+Parsons is enough especially they plan to keep Pekovic

I'd rather have Asik and Parsons than injury prone Love.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

you know that Asik is useful for Minnesota only if Love stays right? I mean, it's like Portland, if they weant Asik is to pair him with LMA

Nobody is trading Aldridge, Love, Bosh or guys like that for Asik.

Morey is good, but he should just accept a good offer, no way you add another gunner.

do not doubt General Morey
he will prove you wrong
he somehow turn Landry into Martin
then from Martin into Harden
he can turn Asik into Durant

Keep on dreaming then

You actually don't need another star, just good role players and a team that works fine together.

Harden, Parsons, Howard, that's enough.
You need a starting PG that can be paired with Harden and Howard, Lin is not that guy, and a stretch four.

You have the assets to get that, and your bench will be always full with ring chasers and stuff like that, and you also have quality cheap guys like Bev, Smith, Garcia,...
