Now that may not have as big of an effect on Oladipo, it kind of depends on the player. I'm not completely against keeping him at PG for the Summer League, because in the long run it's SL. But I just think the time would be more effectively served not forcing him to play PG and have him work on the things he does well and developing that role. Hell, why don't we force Harkless to play PG? I'd like for him to develop his passing, too.

He didn't struggle THAT much to where he is going to get shook. He played well, just was really shaky with passing and ball handling

I'm not saying he was horrible. I'm just saying he's not the answer at PG. So why waste time developing him there? He can still develop his game at SG. But forcing him to run the offense? Not only is it going to slow down his development, but when our whole offense looks sloppy and stagnant, it's going to slow everyone's development on that end.

I disagree. His coach at Indiana said he can play point. So why not try him at PG as a explratory thing? There is nothing to lose right now. It will help him to improve his handle which he needs for SG to begin with.

Burke with a pretty bad pass.

Kabongo returns the favor.

He is playing PG right now to develop his dribbling and passing instincts, both of which need work, probably the two things he most needs to work on. That's not hate, that's the truth. Those are two of his biggest weaknesses. Just because he's playing point doesn't mean he is going to be a point guard. It doesn't matter. Durant played PG in summer league. This is a skill building exercise, not a job interview for PG.

DeepO is gonna be a stud! Everyone hating on his PG skills chill the F out! First game playing pg, he can improve. Needs to look off defenders more. His shooting looks great to me. Defense also good. I'm excited to see this kid grow.

this is the correct answer
aol4532 on bill russell
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

Because ELITE shooting guards can do all of this, it needs to be in his game, only good can come out of that even in spurts.

I am not saying do it through the season, I am saying completely through summer league.
A smart coach once said, "Potential just means you're not good enough yet." Playing on potential is like living on air: It's essential, but if thats all you have, you're eventually going to starve.

Nothing really to say, we all know he usually makes those shots he was missing.

I could have stomached Nicholson's poor shooting if he hadn't given up 75 points to Kelly Olynyk.

I expect him to bounce back tomorrow.

Agreed, but same rules apply to Burke that apply to Dipo. Its game one of summer league, some adjustment required.

Yeah, but Dipo stood out and made things happen...both good and bad lol. I have to be searching for Burke :-?
