Can't believe somebody asked a Dwight question! Love how Moe responds though, with just a simple "no" and looks at him like he's crazy.
Yeah, these new guys don't give a crap about Dwight. I also laughed when he said him and VO giving defense from both guard positions will be good. The question was what VO will bring that we probably didn't have last year.
Woj is the new Bucher. Shams is the new Woj. Espn is the new TMZ. The NBA is the new WWE.
Boo.
Boo.

How these guys get paid....
I know, I had the same look as Moe did when he was asking the question. I don't know what that guy was thinking.

Rough shooting day for him, but he is still contributing in a good way.
8 points...7 boards...5 assists...only 2 TOs
He missed some shots he usually knocks down....could be some jitters or whatnot.
When he gets the REAL big guys that the Jazz have to offer, I expect him to look much much better.

stats aside he looked slow and not that athletic.. he has obvious passing ability but he definitely wasnt worth a #2 pick if he cant bang with quicker/more athletic players

Burke 1/12 shooting in 32 minutes... it's only his first game, but that is an awful debut.

Re: 2013 Orlando Summer League (July 7 - July 12)
I can't tell if the Magic are throwing the kitchen sink at Oladipo in terms of minutes played and offensive usage in order to give him training as a versatile NBA SG in the offense, or if they have a serious predisposition for converting him into a serious PG experiment/player. His defense was pretty much exactly as billed though. Here's what I saw from him playing the PG position though, because he pretty much played it the whole entire game:
Oladipo mentioned in the post game, that for IU, he ran the point sometimes for whole entire practices. The commentator, the one who wasn't "3-D" Dennis Scott, also made an illuminating point while watching Oladipo run the PG spot, that this was his first time watching Oladipo in-person instead of in video, and he exhibited way more swagger and confidence than he previously thought.
When I watch Oladipo play PG, he looks like a real PG to me. This is because he shows so much confidence running it. He looks more sure of himself as a PG than other "supposedly-pure" PGs I've seen in the past. The kind of PG I saw right away, was a scoring minded and smart PG, and he cares too much about his efficiency to be a scoring gunner type PG (from observations and IU eFG%).
He also displayed more excellent passing than I would have thought, but he's not a pure or flashy PG yet, and some of his passes were a tad too ahead or behind to the intended target (but were caught often anyways). His passing skills gave him 7 AST, breaking any game-high AST from 'Dipo's IU career already, I believe. And I think there may have even been a couple more assists that simply ended in poor finishes/shooting or as hockey assists. He finished with 6 TO though, with 3 TO to 4 AST in the 2nd Half.
One of the two other potential mistakes I saw Oladipo doing, might have been from dribbling a bit too high at times, Im not even sure if it's hurting him though, it could be helping him penetrate faster and I don't think he got the ball stolen from one of the high dribbles. The other was stopping his dribble when he didn't really have to on like at least two or three occasions, that's usually a no-no as a PG. It didn't really create any problems though, because O'Quinn always makes himself available as a passer when the ball gets dribble-dead, and then O'Quinn can pass amazing for a big man, to kick the team offense back up. The only player who seemed to guard 'Dipo well was Bos' #40 Granger in the second half, but 'Dipo bursted past his sticky defense handily on 2-3 occasions, he just barely missed the drives though, yelling God-damn really loud after one of them. He still got 4 PTS, 4 AST, 1 STL, 2 RB in that 2nd half, with 2 AST, 2 PT, and 1 huge steal in the last 3 minutes alone.
I thought O'Quinn and Oladipo made amazing PnR/passing partners. There was atleast 2-4 direct points that each gave to the other with their inter-passing. O'Quinn did a lot of direct and indirect screens to help out 'Dipo too. What I loved about Oladipo was how great his penetrations and drives were. He was really impressing me with how he could finish his drives (he got down there when he wanted, and it was FTs often, and a couple close ones), and he knew when to shoot off that dribble, and when to effectively pass off that dribble. He played like a smart PG, even though he had some TOs by the end. Maybe the best part of his penetrations and drives, he really drives unafraid of contact and in a fashion where it's somehow more obvious when he's getting fouled down there. I'm not sure this showed as much in IU, because he really commanded a respect towards deserving those FT trips as the PG, and he got the game-high 8 FTA. I love this kid's game, he's showing so much skill and potential offensively when I didn't even bother to get into how great his defense was already.

Well this is weird. Daniel Orton, Deandre Liggins, and Justin Harper all on the floor at the same time in the Summer League in Orlando.
