People need to calm down about Olynyk. He is a very polished player. There was never any doubt in my mind that he could score at the NBA level. The question always has been whether or not he will be a defensive liability. We're not going to find that out in Summer League because there won't be any good power forwards to match up against him.

Kevin Durant already tweeted about Osby being a steal for Orlando. Osby is a three years older and physically is much more mature than Porter. He's nowhere near the passer and his defensive profile is not as versatile as Otto's. However, I suspect he is far more ready to contribute offensively because he's strong.

Led the Big 12 in PER (28.9) and WS/40 (.246)

The numbers over time don't lie. I value the numbers way more than height, reach, and other artificial measures like agility. Osby could be one of the second round picks who outperforms most of the first round picks. This draft has at least 6 or 7 very good second round players, plus a couple undrafted who have first round talent

The number you need to value most is age. Osby was 22 when he broke out in his senior year. History shows that guys who break out in the senior year are fools gold, particularly guys who don't have a freakish physical profile or freakish athleticism.

Most every board I read wanted to trade down, it doesn't look like much was available. It was clear that Cleveland wanted out of the top spot & couldn't get out.

Cleveland wanted to get out of the top spot so they could get a youngish franchise caliber big man. Didn't you see they offered the 1st for LMA and Kevin Love?

BruceO wrote:Other than Otto and grjr, what a bunch of nobodies.. But I suppose if I was a player is know there's no chance of making the wizards roster unless at point guard or backup stretch forward and I don't see none of those so...

And yeah I meant Vesely and Singleton as well lol

Devin Booker---Trevor's younger brother--- is the better of the two when it comes to offense. It's not far-fetched at all to think that he could be the one of all the invitees to make the roster---assuming the Wizards are looking to add.

Aside from Otto Porter Jr., Glen Rice Jr. and the two Wizards third year players, I can see him becoming the talk around here. Will be pulling for Baby Book.

Jason Kidd can't even draw-up plays, Frank had to do it for him.....very odd.

Larry Bird did the same thing when he coached the Indiana Pacers. He had assistant coaches handle much of the in-game X's and O's. He was more of a "big picture" guy.

Considering i had Olynyk the 3rd highest ranked prospect on my board, I kinda figured he'd open eyes in summer league play. Not surprised one bit by his play. Saw where he's been working extensively the last 3 months on his NBA 3 pt range. I tell ya, this guy is going to be something special offensively.

I saw that game. He looked good, better than I expected.

Dwight Buycks -- Twelve points, 13 assists, only 2 turnovers.

Was a French league MVP. Last season he averaged 15 points and was first team all rookie in D-League.

Very doubtful he makes the roster for OKC too. Would be an interesting guy if he becomes available.

I agree. I am happy he went before Porter so we don't have to worry about the "what might have been" vibe.

Real interesting move by ORL for sure.

Going to be fun watching this class this year.

As for Otto, I believe he'll peak in 3-4 years. He's going to be a good all around player who probably plays in one or two all star games is my prediction. I think like Prince was, Otto will be a winning ball player. He does things that help teams win.

I really liked this young man after seeing some of him from the camp invite. Really liked him as a person also.

Sorry, can't let you escape with such an egregious misrepresentation of your position: you had him 4th.

Popovich, who most definitely knows how to draw up plays, often lets players handle timeout huddles, including drawing up plays. He's done it with Parker, Duncan and Ginobili -- he let Manu do it in a playoff game this year.

Speaking of big guys... Drummond still looks very awkward on offense. I though Plumlee looked good too. This was such a bad draft for teams in the lottery this year - the value at the top of the board wasn't that much greater than for teams like the Nets - just not right.
