Cap guys need your help to confirm

Rose
Bulter
Melo
Taj or Mirotic
Noah

With Dunleavy, it's about $11 Million minus whatever Mirotic gets.

Then they'd have to find a person who wants boozers expiring contract to make this possible.

The $11 Million is with Boozer being amnestied. Gibson for pure cap space (absorbed) is the only way we'd be close.

So you think the bolded describes Kobe?

Kobe has the exact same style as Melo does in the clutch, yet you argued Melo's playing style in the clutch was the reason why he wasn't a superstar. Even though that really makes no sense, because there's nobody else on the Knicks who really should be shooting in the clutch, and Melo is one of the most clutch players in the league.

And the funny thing is that your video just strengthens my argument. Kobe actually deferred more when he had Shaq, compared to when he was not playing with another superstar.

Assist averages don't tell you anything about passing in the clutch. It's completely irrelevant to the discussion at hand.

And he earlier started going into Kobe vs. Melo overall when the argument was Kobe vs. Melo in the clutch. So you're wrong.

Deng shrivels like a penis coming out of a cold pool. Melo don't back down and shows up.

Are you purposely ignoring all the posts where I clearly stated Melo is only a scorer, unlike Kobe who actually defends and passes far more and far better than Melo? Or that a prime Kobe never shot under 40% from the field in the playoffs, something a prime Melo has done multiple times. Style is one thing, actual PRODUCTION is another. Melo isn't a superstar like Kobe because he doesn't have any kind of all-around game like Kobe and he doesn't perform at the elite level Kobe does. It's really as simple as that.

I guess I just misunderstood your original post as only referring to the clutch.

Do you all realize that Carmelo is possibly the most clutch player IN THE ENTIRE NBA? The Bulls would never have a problem scoring in the 4th quarter. LeBron would never be able to guard Rose without leaving Melo on an inferior defender.

Carmelo's probably on pace to the NBA HOF, and somehow remains underappreciated here. Rose and Carmelo is on par with the best duos in the league and is easier to build around. I would still gladly trade any not-Rose player for Carmelo.

I'm rooting more than ever for the Knicks to blow next season. If Carmelo gets frustrated enough to consider leaving, the Bulls need to clear the cap space possible to sign him. A Rose/Butler/Melo/Mirotic/Noah lineup can win a championship.

I've never disputed Melo's knack for clutch baskets, he's one of the best of this era when it comes to that. And yes, Kobe does resort to hero ball as well, but Melo is a little bit more extreme extent of hero ball. Like I said, he makes big shots, but he's merely a scorer, and an awfully low percentage one in the playoffs. Kobe does so much more over the course of a 48 minute game than Melo.

A new challenger for the ever nebulous "2014 Plan"!

...Well, if you think about it, maintaining financial flexibility would allow something like this. I'm thinking something like renounce Deng, amnesty Boozer, and salary dump Gibson should do the trick, but my math may be off on that one.

But of course, if you're clearing that kind of space, might as well take a run at LeBron James. >_>

Still rooting for wins, but losses aren't the worst thing in the world. Perhaps the optimal strategy is hoping the Blackhawks are on at the same time.

Has the argument ever been that we don't want Carmelo, or was it that we don't want to give up Deng and Noah to get him.

It's the latter, and its a similar argument to the case against LMA.

The big problem is that we will be competing head on with the LA Lakers.

Melo helps us more than Noah and Deng do. Heck Deng didn't even play vs Miami at all.

I would take both Melo or LMA over Deng, but I believe neither are worth the trade unless we keep Noah while also adding them.

It's the latter. Deng/Noah/picks versus Anthony.

That's fine. I just don't see how Noah and Deng combined have more value than a likely NBA HOF'er in his prime.
